About 綠林甜品

綠林甜品, a dessert shop in Sham Shui Po, is at 77, 79 Un Chau St, Un Chau, Kowloon. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted.

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Dessert shops are liveliest in the evening and some stay open late; ask for insulated packing for frozen takeaways.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Thu 14:00–24:00, Fri–Sat 14:00–01:00, Sun 14:00–24:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2361 4205; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there.

At 3.9 out of 5 on Google (1,724 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

Craving something old-school that still tastes honest? Tucked quietly away, Luk Lam Dessert proves traditional Cantonese dessert still holds its ground. Begin with the Almond & Egg White Tea 🥚 — silky and warm, the nutty almond leading while soft egg white plays a gentle backup. The real stars are the stone-ground classics: Sesame Paste carries a faint roasted whisper, while Walnut Paste runs thick, deeply nutty, never watered down. Want something cooler? The Fresh Fruit Tofu Pudding 🍈 stays icy yet keeps its beany softness, scattered with juicy fruit. Save room for the finale — Coffee Pudding with Sago & Ice Cream 🍨, a tiramisu-leaning spoonful where bold coffee, fragrant chocolate and a faint salty Oreo crunch land in balance. Simple room, generous bowls, zero pretension. 💚

I was warmly welcomed by the staff who were happy and sweet. The menu is quite extensive, so being a beginner in HK desserts I went for the generous and well proportioned red bean, sago and dumpling shake with mango ice cream. Absolutely yummy. Going back to try more of the menu 👍

The mango sago dessert was too good. The owner is really friendly and we had a good conversation. She gave me an authentic Chinese dessert to try which was amazing as well. Must recommended.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Consistent Quality in the Heart of Sham Shui Po I have visited Luk Lam Dessert several times now, and the most impressive aspect is the consistency. Regardless of the day, the standard of the desserts remains high. • Lotus Seed & Dried Tangerine Peel Red Bean Soup (蓮子陳皮紅豆沙): This is a standout. The texture is refined, and adding the sesame dumplings (Tang Yuan) creates a wonderful harmony of flavors. • Value Add-ons: For just HK$8, you can add curry fishballs, which provides a nice savory contrast to the sweet soups. • Service & Hospitality: The owner is very friendly and actively engages with the community. A nice touch is the voucher provided upon settling the bill for your next visit (subject to a minimum spend). Overall, a very welcoming dessert shop that serves the local community with pride. Highly recommended for those seeking traditional Cantonese sweets.

Stewed Snow Pear with Tendril‑leaved Fritillary Bulb, Lodoicea & Fig Sweet Soup (HKD 51) was served cold, light, and refreshing. The pear was delicately sliced, the fig juicy and naturally sweet, and the clear broth carried gentle herbal notes that balanced the fruit. Traditionally valued for moistening the lungs, easing cough, and clearing heat, it was soothing, mildly sweet, and comforting — a dessert soup that felt both tasty and nourishing.
