World Prestigious Restaurant Guide award winning Hong Kong Egg Puff shop, serving up fresh and creative snacks for the whole family since 2009.
媽咪雞蛋仔 (中環街市店), a dessert shop in Central, Central and Western, is at 香港島中環皇后大道中德輔道中80號中環街市2樓242B舖 港鐵中環站C出口93號及. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet.
Opening hours: daily, 12:00–20:45. It opens every day of the week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has. More information is on its website, mammypancake.com.
At 4.2 out of 5 on Google (271 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Located on the second floor instead of the ground floor. The egg waffle is quite good. However, the numbering system and the service of the cashier needs improvement. I had been standing there for more than 10 minutes but the cashier did not even call me to collect my egg waffle although it had been done.

First time having an egg waffle in Hong Kong and it was delightful. Freshly made and warm, crispy outside and various flavored insides to choose from. A good light snack.

I’ve been comparing waffles across different shops in HK lately, and Mammy Pancake’s version is pretty solid—maybe even a little above average. The texture hits the mark with a crispy, slightly firm exterior and a soft center. My only small critiques were that it wasn't served very hot, and the peanut butter was quite thick and sticky. The flavors also felt a bit unbalanced at times—I’d occasionally get a mouthful of just butter, which wasn't quite my preference. However, for the price point, it’s still a very good deal!

There is no sitting arrangement - inconvenient. We stand at the table of the cafe next to it. Attention! Portion with icecream is HUGE. Good for two ‘hungry for a dessert’ people, tones of delicious icecream. They cooled down waffle, so it barely melt while we were eating. Waffle - nicely crispy. Tasty and/but massive. Earl grey waffle was moderately sweet and nicely flavoured. Next time I would go without icecream for convenience. There are a lot of interesting savoury flavours!

In my quest to have as many egg waffles during one trip in Hong Kong, Mammy was on my hit list. I wasn't sure what to expect but was coming in hungry which mattered most. This stall was easy to find in HK Central Market on the second floor with a bright looking decor and extensive menu. The prices are reasonable overall and I ended up ordering an original egg waffle and a Yakult smoothie (totalling HKD$46 after a $4 discount for ordering a set). The egg waffle was fantastic as it was fresh, hot, crispy and most importantly tasty. The drink was distinctly Yakult flavoured and wasn't too icy thankfully. All in all, a wonderful snacking experience and highly recommended to others.
