Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Spice levels at Thai, Vietnamese and other Asian restaurants can usually be adjusted, so say so when ordering.

Opening hours: Mon–Tue 12:00–15:00 and 18:00–23:00, Wed closed, Thu–Sun 12:00–15:00 and 18:00–23:00. That makes 6 working days a week. Lunch and dinner are served in separate sessions with a break in between. It opens on Sunday too, like most places to eat in Hong Kong. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

Overall, the food was quite good. However, the Spicy Minced Pork tasted a bit too much like MSG. Also, the garlic bread has a very strong garlic flavor, so it doesn't go very well with the curry.

一啲都唔好食 I called at 6pm to book a table. They said I can just walk in and there are plenty of seats. When we reached we had to wait for 3p minutes. My seat is right under Air con dripping. The food portion is small. Chang beer (small bottle) costs HKD22 - 3 times the normal dai paai dong price. Food came very late. It is over crowded. Foods have too much MSG, you can tell they didnt cook with homemade sauce. There are plenty of better options in Cheung Sha Wan and this is the worst...

very authentic thai food! so surprised to find this very small shop in shamshuipo that serves tasty real thai food. i'd say it tastes even better than those in kowloon city. there wasn't many choice on the menu but to pick its highlight is definitely the right thing to do. the pork neck lettuce wrap was very lovely, the sour sauce was good and it serves excellent as the start of the meal. tom yum as well was very authentic. the only thing is the seats are closed, the place is small so not sitting comfortably. see if you can bear that. i love i its name too - straight forward, it's Tasty Thai Food Restaurant!

Aim Aroi Thai Foods is an intimate, family-run Thai establishment that immediately feels authentic thanks to its Thai ownership. However, space is quite limited. The restaurant operates with a 75-minute time limit for meals, which feels perfectly adequate for lunch but might feel rather rushed for a leisurely dinner experience. The menu impresses with its comprehensive selection of authentic Thai dishes. However, one notable omission is the absence of alcoholic beverages on the menu, which might disappoint those looking to pair their meal with a Thai beer or wine. ## The Food: Pad Kra Pao Gai I opted for the Stir fried Thai basil minced pork rice for lunch, which arrived beautifully presented on a blue-rimmed plate. The pork was expertly prepared with good seasoning, though the spice level was quite mild. The dish would have benefited from a more generous hand with the holy basil, as this herb is truly the star of this signature dish! The Sunday lunch set includes a complimentary drink, which is excellent value. However, the iced coffee proved disappointing - I think this was made by the Thai instant coffee. I’d like to add that the service was mediocre. I wouldn’t describe t
