Hong Kong's supermarkets, convenience stores and wet markets each have their role: convenience stores are mostly open 24 hours, supermarkets usually from morning until about 22:00, and wet markets are busiest in the morning and early evening. Since the end of 2022 plastic shopping bags cost HK$1 each, so bring your own; Octopus and e-payments are common, but not every market stall accepts them. Many supermarkets deliver online orders, with delivery fees usually based on the order value.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Fri 08:00–21:00, Sat–Sun 08:30–20:00. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2810 7710. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. More information is on its website, oliversthedeli.com.hk.

Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

Growing up, I loved wandering the aisles here for rare imported staples, but the magic is fading, especially since the move to 3rd floor. Half of the floor space is now dedicated to ready-to-eat meals (sushi, salads, etc.) that are identical to any other standard Market Place. The saving grace is still the wine section, great for a last-minute pickup after work.

I bought this for lunch (rice with 2 sides) for HK$68 from the hot deli area. Served by a very grumpy woman. Is this reflective and worth HK$68 consisting of 4 miserable pieces of roast pork and a small portion of veg????

Oliver's carries a wide variety of items that many grocery stores in the area don’t have such as specialty or imported products. I initially came here because I had a hard time finding ground Saigon cinnamon which I was able to get here. The prices were fair, and I was able to find some great deals on a few items. During checkout there was a small mix-up. The cashier had to manually input the code for my Brussels sprouts, but it came up as salmon bites. I mentioned it so it could be corrected, but the cashier insisted it was the correct item when it wasn’t. To avoid further confusion, I simply asked for the item to be removed from the bill. Aside from that minor issue at checkout, the selection and pricing were good, and it’s still a convenient place to shop if you’re looking for items that are harder to find elsewhere.

It was mandatory for me to here for craft beers, chocolates and imported fruits. As a person who used to live here and enjoy 0% of alcohol, I felt very bad when I bought craft beers in Bangkok. Limited choice of imported fruit. Heavy taxes on import products. Ah I must visit this place and get back my heavy taxes on alcohol and enjoyed the beers while I was there.
