The best surprise happens to our HK trip. We came by here on 1. July which is public holiday. Surprisingly it was quite empty with no waiting queue. We were told that it is an innovative bar. In the end, we love so much that we ordered 6 cups from the menu (the rest is sweeter which is not our taste). Ranking from my boyfriend: 1. Advance treatment 2. The original 3. Our final warning. Ranking from me: 1. The original 2. H for hope 3. Advance treatment. I don’t like strong whiskey cocktail but Penicillin made such a great balance for the Original mixed with salty and umami taste, a very odd complex satisfying feeling, a wow effect. We had a lovely chat with all the workers there. They are extremely experienced and recommend according to our description. The fried chicken was soooo good as well, paring with their drinks at midnight. We were already so convinced to come back next year and look forward to try the new menu!! Mel and Seb

Hey there, this is GeniePam 🧞‍♀️ visiting from Dubai 🇦🇪 originally from 🇲🇽 with my partner in crime from 🇩🇪 this is bar which only focuses on sustainable cocktails, which is quite interesting, however I felt the places was cramped, cocktails were nice but not mind blowing and overpriced as usual on these bars, but you don't mind when the price is worth it. Penicillin is easily one of the most memorable cocktail bars I’ve visited in Hong Kong — not just because of the drinks, but because of how creative and immersive the entire experience feels. Hidden along Hollywood Road in Central, the bar blends moody speakeasy vibes with a surprisingly fun “science lab” concept centred around sustainability and zero-waste cocktails. Every drink feels experimental yet balanced, with ingredients you’d never expect to work together somehow coming alive beautifully. I especially loved how the team incorporates fermented, repurposed, and locally sourced ingredients without making the cocktails feel gimmicky. The atmosphere is intimate, energetic, and perfect for a night out in Central, though it can get quite packed later in the evening. Service was excellent too — the bartenders genuinely enjoy explaining the stories behind the drinks. I absolutely recommend it for cocktail lovers looking for something unique in Hong Kong.

We love this bar!! The drinks are so creative and tasty. The staff are amazing and hospitable. The music is vibes. We have come to this bar both times we’ve visited HK and will be coming back the next time we are in town! Thank you especially to John and Antonia for making this stop an amazing part of a fun last night for our trip.

Well-crafted, very experimental cocktails! Don’t forget to order the Koji Fried Chicken! It’s so tender, tasty and addictive.
