Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Spice levels at Thai, Vietnamese and other Asian restaurants can usually be adjusted, so say so when ordering.

Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 2838 9190. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is instagram.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

At 3.9 out of 5 on Google (39 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Craving a taste of Thailand?🇹🇭 Soi Thong, a newcomer in causeway bay, might be your answer! Dive into the rich flavors of the classic Beef Boat Rice Noodle, slow-cooked with beef bones for a savory, slightly sweet broth, paired with tender beef slices, juicy meatballs, and silky rice noodles🤤 For a spicy kick, try the Thai-style Basil Pork Rice with fragrant stir-fried minced pork, string beans, and chili, perfectly paired with fluffy white rice. End on a sweet note with Young Coconut Bua-Loi, a surprising highlight of our meal featuring mango, coconut and colorful mochi balls!

At the start of the new year, Hong Kongers have a fresh dining option! The Thai street‑flavor restaurant “Soi Thong” opened in Causeway Bay on January 3. In Thai, “Soi” means “small alley,” symbolizing street food, while “Thong” represents “golden.” The restaurant is helmed by Chomchuen Pornphen, a Thai native with over 30 years of culinary experience, who elevates authentic Thai street snacks into a refined dining experience. Chomchuen Pornphen previously served as head chef of Thai cuisine at Macau’s Grand Lisboa Hotel for 19 years. With more than three decades in the kitchen, her career spans luxury hotels, steakhouses, and fine‑dining restaurants. She is skilled in both traditional Thai dishes and fusion creations, and even personally prepared exclusive meals for the late casino tycoon Stanley Ho. She insists on handcrafted preparation—personally handling ingredients, blending sauces, and simmering broths—to deliver the pure, authentic taste of Thailand.
