About Tailor
Western Japanese comfort food cafe ☕️
Tailor is a café in Central, Central and Western, at 204, 2/F, Central Market, Shop 201, 93 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong Island. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
Cafés, bakeries, dessert and drinks shops are often mainly takeaway with a few seats, and weekend afternoons are the busiest. Many accept Octopus, credit cards and e-wallets, and some run loyalty schemes or pre-orders; birthday cakes and festive boxes (mooncakes at Mid-Autumn, for example) usually need ordering in advance, a few days ahead on popular dates. If you plan to work or study in a café, check for power sockets and any seating time limit.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 08:00–22:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 9058 1166; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. As this is a mobile number, a WhatsApp message may also work.
It has a Google rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 139 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Light dinner & specialty drinks in Central Market This new place in Central Market could be your new go-to spot for coffee/ special handcrafted beverages. I had a cup of hot chocolate that’s smooth and 10/10 milky, frothed with velvety foams and topped with chocolate bits. My friend got iced camomile that’s herbal and floral at the same time. Needed some light dinner after our chitchat, so we shared wagyu burger & sunny side up on kimchi fried rice, and mentaiko pasta. Both of these were amazingly delicious- it’s the proper Japanese Western fusion style. The kimchi fried rice was very light and not spicy, while the pink mentaiko pasta was loaded with tasty Sakura shrimps and popping salmon roes. Dinner set came with complimentary miso soup and a hearty tofu salad. Yum!

Dropped by Central Market with mom right after work since it’s so convenient, and realized this new spot just opened! ✨ The Wagyu Burger was so juicy and cooked perfectly, and mom absolutely loved the Sous Vide Miso Salmon—super tender and flavor was spot on. For drinks, I got a Hot Chocolate with full cream milk (so rich and creamy hits the spot 🥺❤️), and mom tried their new Rice Scent Fossil Puerh. It was hot, earthy, and had this amazing comforting aroma. Perfect post-work treat with mom!

Came here to check out Central Market and was in desperate need for a coffee. I hate drinking coffee on the go, so I kept walking past kiosks selling coffee until I saw Tailor. I asked if I could sit down for coffee and the staff directed me to the sitting area. It wasn't until I had sat down and started perusing the menu that I saw that patrons are required to order a drink AND a food item. Since I was meeting friends for lunch a couple of hours later, I opted for the tofu salad. My coffee was decent, nothing to write home about. The salad was also fine but very over dressed. Luckily I like the shiso yuzu dressing that was doused on it. The corn was an excellent touch as it added a hint of sweetness. I also enjoyed the pumpkin seeds.
