We have used Tane Residence a few times now, and have always found it very good: communication with the staff is efficient and friendly; instructions are clear, and the paperwork uncomplicated. The locations are good, and the accomodation clean and acceptable. Yes, there are no lifts, but the buildings that we have stayed in are renovated 'walk ups', part of Hong Kong's heritage.

I had a good experience staying with Tane Residence. The team was polite, responsive, and helpful throughout my stay. From day one, the process was quite smooth, and whenever I had a question, they replied in a timely manner. Overall, I found the stay convenient and well managed.

AVOID TANE AT ALL COSTS!!!! 4+ Months After Moving Out — HKD $5,500 of My Deposit Still Missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [See attached image for easier reading] HKD $5,500 of my security deposit is still missing (equivalent to roughly $700 USD). The original damage deposit was HKD $11,000 (approx. $1,400 USD), equal to one month’s rent, which I thought was a lot, but I provided it anyway. Tane says they have sent this money BUT will not provide an MT103 or Swift Transfer document to show the money trace and confirm with me. They did send half of this deposit back on Feb 19 as what they described as a “gesture of goodwill” — 73 days after my checkout! Timeline summary: - Moved out in early December after staying just over two months - Checkout inspection confirmed no damages - Deposit was supposed to be refunded within 30 days - Over 3 months later, half of the deposit is still outstanding I stayed at Tane Residence for a little over two months and moved out in early December. Shortly after moving out, I received confirmation that my checkout inspection was successful and that no damages were found in the unit. I stayed in Room B at Sheung Wan. However, in the adjacent Room A, loud music was played every night until early morning. At first, I repeatedly asked the management to intervene, but the white male tenant in Room A made no effort whatsoever to improve his behavior. The problem went beyond simple noise. The person in Room A deliberately threw broken glass and trash into the narrow corridor leading to our rooms, and even pushed and intimidated me, a female tenant. I reported this through the Tane Residence WhatsApp, but I did not receive any immediate assistance. The next morning, I was only told that another “warning” would be given. Eventually, I called the police, but he intentionally refused to open the door. I could not sleep at all that night, and I told the manager that I could no longer stay in this room. I asked that either the tenant in Room A be relocated or that I be moved to another room. However, the management said that the only available rooms were more expensive than the one I was paying for, or that I could move to Room C, which was located in the same corridor as Room A. I explained that, after being threatened by the tenant in Room A, I did not feel safe living n
