Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

We have four adorable fur babies 🐶🐶🐈⬛🐈⬛who mean the absolute world to us🐾, so finding a vet we can truly trust has always been incredibly important. After moving to Hong Kong a year ago, we unfortunately had a very disappointing experience at another veterinary clinic in Sai Ying Pun. When our little Cavapoo, Dash, was diagnosed with Perthes disease, we knew we needed a team we could trust with such a major surgery. That’s when we found The Pet Vet, and it honestly felt like night and day. From our very first consultation, Dr. Nick was attentive, patient, compassionate, and incredibly informative. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions without making us feel rushed, and genuinely cared about Dash’s wellbeing. He referred us to Dr. François, who specialises in orthopaedic surgery, and even helped arrange everything for us. Dash has now undergone surgery and is recovering wonderfully. We are so grateful to Dr. François for his skill and excellent care, and to Dr. Nick and the entire team for supporting us throughout the process. Knowing your beloved pet is in such capable hands makes all the difference during a stressful time. We recently

Dr Nick is definitely the best and most patient veterinarian I have ever met. My usually grumpy and bitey tom cat behaved surprisingly well before him. His methodical inspection and comprehensive explanation really offered me much comfort and confidence. I would assertively recommend Dr Nick to any cat owner seeking veterinary services.

Dr Nick and the team are so gentle and genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of their patients. 10/10 would recommend My cat is extremely anxious so we’ve always struggled with bringing her out for vet visits. This time she was super stressed on the way to the clinic, and the moment we arrived, the team immediately offered to let us wait in the exam room to let her calm down. Dr Nick was very careful and intentional throughout the whole visit to make my cat feel comfortable — to the point where she felt safe enough to lounge around and purr. He also listened patiently to our (many) concerns and made sure we understood the test results and direction of treatment. Thank you so much again to the team: we appreciate you all so much for going the extra mile to help our gang be their healthiest and most confident selves. It feels like you are making a point to advocate for them which is really reassuring. Extra points for the lovely lemon tape!

I rarely write reviews, in fact, this is my first one, but The Pet Vet absolutely earned this one. After living in Hong Kong for 20+ years and visits to more than four clinics, this is hands down the best experience we have ever had. My dog suddenly had severe diarrhoea and was clearly in pain. I called The Pet Vet after struggling to reach my usual clinic and finding their prices were relatively high compared to the market. The receptionist got us in on the same day with no extra fees or emergency consultation fees (unlike other vets we’ve visited). Dr Nicholas and Dr Joanne were phenomenal. They were transparent, kind, and incredibly patient. Instead of pushing a pile of tests, they walked me through clear options, explained what was necessary, and recommended only what was best for my dog. They never rushed us, answered every question with care, and made me feel completely supported. The whole team was professional, friendly and clearly loves animals The clinic is welcoming and thoughtfully designed 😍 My usually nervous furbaby actually relaxed and played in their little dog area with toys, which never happened before. The books and calm environment were a lovely touch ❤️❤️

We’ve had a great experience with The Pet Vet team so far! We moved from London with our two, young Labradoodles in December 2025 and finding a warm, knowledgable vet was at the top of our priority list. Dr Nick is both of those things, and Milo & Luna have enjoyed their visits to the vet so far - even running up the stairs to the front door when they realise where we are. We had Milo neutered with Dr Nick, and the entire experience from surgery day to follow up was great! We also unfortunately had an incident where both dogs got into a box of chocolates while we were out which resulted in a hospital stay for the day at The Pet Vet, but again Dr Nick was pragmatic yet reassuring. When we picked them up in the evening, they were both very happy with tails wagging! The clinic itself is spacious and clean, and all the nurses have been incredibly friendly and caring towards the dogs. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Pet Vet and Dr Nick.
