One unexpected and charming detail is the historical introduction outside the bar and featuring a tribute to Sun Yat-sen. Drinks are priced at around HKD130 each (plus a 10% service charge). The staff are attentive passionate about their craft. Their introductions to each cocktail add a personal that makes the experience special. I ordered three drinks in there. The Optimist Light alcohol base with a delicate honey bubble on top. Refreshing and subtly sweet. The Vacationist inspired by Japanese flavors and featuring carrot, pandan and yogurt. Topped with a crunchy carrot garnish. You can bite, then sip for full effect. The Newborn is creamy, milky blend reminiscent of strawberry yogurt. It likes a gin fizz but with alcohol so well hidden it feels like dessert. If you're looking for a bar that offers more than just drinks and blends mystery, history and inventive mixology. This spot in Central is a must visit.

My friends and myself popped in on a whim for a night cap after an evening of exploring bars in the area. I must say that this place didn't disappoint me in the slightest. The service was friendly and the cocktails were delicious with well curated flavours and beautifully presented. Even their menu was designed so well! Recommended to try if you are in the area!

Atmosphere 6/10 Relatively strange bar room layout. The bar area is placed around a corner, creating a not-so-cozy bar counter experience. Table seating and come wall-counter seating are available for a better experience. I liked the high ceilings. Nice back bar and pleasant music volume (Chinese hiphop and pop). Drinks 9/10 Recommendation: The Optimist, The City Boy Nice menu design. The Optimist and City Boy tasted great. They also had really cool and unique presentation + garnish. The honey caviar on the Optimist was top-notch. Drinks tasted well balanced with good flavor. Custom cups / glassware and super cool coasters. Service 8/10 Friendly team, speaks enough English to explain the basics of their concept. Water is served on the spot and they also have complimentary snacks. Prices are below average for Hong Kong.

Let me put it like this: I really want to like this bar, I really do. This bar is on my favourite area and had so much potential on first glance, the cool decor, the hiding in plain sight vibes, the name, it’s all giving. So we went and gave it a try. I’d have to say, I appreciate the effort to curate the cocktails and the specials, but it just feel more gimmicky than substance for me. The one that I had was Sacred Barrel, and my friend bubbling ink. The sacred barrel for me was not to my taste, the ingredients for me just doesn’t go together. It was not a symphony of taste, more like a quarrel of tastes. Bubbling ink looks really nice, but that was just it. It tastes sort of bland, sort of a nothing bagel, and overall both drinks didn’t leave much of an impression, if not a bad one. We really love the bar’s decor, but we were sitting right in front at the bar, and it felt really cramped and then we moved to the corner place which just felt like I was a kid being punished. I doubt the drinking experience would have much of a difference at the table, but the talking experience certainly would be. The Poet Bar in Central caught our eye with its sleek and cute interior, so we decided to give it a try. The waiter was friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. While the bar is on the smaller side and can get a bit crowded and loud—especially when seated next to a big group—we still enjoyed our visit. The drinks were creative and well-crafted, adding to the overall experience. A cozy spot, though it’s best to visit when it’s not too packed.
