About The Savory Project
The Savory Project aims to provide guests with a unique flavor experience by offering meticulously crafted cocktails that feature unorthodox ingredients and emphasize savory and umami notes.
The Savory Project, a pub or bar in Central, Central and Western, is at 4 Staunton Street, Soho, Central, Hong Kong Island. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted.
Under Hong Kong law, businesses may not sell or supply alcohol to anyone under 18, so bars may ask for ID. Many run happy-hour deals in the early evening, weekends are the liveliest, and some venues have a minimum spend or a cover charge; for live music or private events, ask for details first.
Opening hours: Mon closed, Tue–Sat 18:00–01:00, Sun 18:00–24:00. That makes 6 working days a week. It opens on Sunday too, like most places to eat in Hong Kong. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 2318 1588. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. More information is on its website, thesavoryproject.com.
Customers give it an average of 4.6 out of 5 on Google (219 reviews), a high score by any measure.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

Hey there, this is GeniePam 🧞♀️ visiting from Dubai 🇦🇪 originally from 🇲🇽 with my partner in crime from 🇩🇪 The Savory Project is unlike any cocktail bar I've been to. The concept is incredibly creative, it's almost as if you're looking at a food menu rather than a cocktail menu. The drinks are inspired by flavors such as Thai beef salad, cheese, and teriyaki salad, which may sound unusual at first, but every cocktail is exceptionally well thought out and beautifully balanced. The team has managed to transform savory dishes into sophisticated and delicious drinks without them feeling gimmicky. The food also looked delicious, sadly we just had food so we didn't try it. If you're looking for a unique cocktail experience and enjoy trying something completely different, this place is an absolute must-visit. Innovative, surprising, and genuinely memorable. Came here on a bar tender’s recommendation upon learning I love complex savoury, umami cocktails! The Baked Cheese Curry was my absolute favourite, the combo of coconut curry and tequila sounds wild, but the apple and celery notes provide a crisp balance that makes it incredibly easy to drink. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Mala Punch, the numbing sensation of the Sichuan pepper and the peatiness of the whiskey are softened perfectly by the milk clarification process. The Dirty Martini (featuring green chiles) and the Pepper+Corn (charred corn husk and mezcal) were just okay for me. They didn't really wow me like the other 2. The service was warm and attentive.

Came to try the new special menu collab with venchi! Highly recommend Cremino martini & matcha night cap, if you prefer something stronger can go for sesame old fashioned! Thai beef salad and baked cheese curry cocktail from OG menu is decent as always! (Queue was around 60-75 mins at 10pm)

Awesome cocktail bar in Hong Kong. Their best asset is their signature menu. They focus on savory cocktails not as a fad or trend but as part of what they are as a bar. And you can see it in their signature cocktail. The BAKED CHEESE CURRY was one of the best cocktails I tasted during my visit to HK--coconut curry. baked cheese. apple. celery, & tequila. The second best thing about TSP is the service which was friendly, attentive and very professional--they refill water religiously, there's free potato chips, and they seem to know when to talk to you and when to leave you alone. Shout out to Ajit and the rest of his crew.

The Savory Project in Hong Kong is a tiny yet charming cocktail bar that packs big personality into a compact space. With limited seating, it feels intimate and unfussy, allowing the focus to stay firmly on the well-crafted cocktails, which are balanced, creative, and thoughtfully executed. It’s an ideal stop if you’re cocktail hopping, offering a quick but memorable experience before moving on to the next spot. Small in size but strong in character, this bar is a lovely find for those who appreciate quality drinks without the fuss.
