Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! It’s a beautiful temple rich with traditional architectural details and a wonderfully serene atmosphere.

We really enjoyed this lovely little gem in the Tin Hau area of Hong Kong. We came as a brief stop while in a food tour, and found this temple to be our favourite we visited in the city. It was peaceful, welcoming, and appeared mostly to be visited by locals. Our guide was able to bring our experience to life, which we really appreciated (Secret Food Tours). Would recommend a brief visit if you are in the area.

Quaint little temple that is nestled amongst the bustling streets full of eateries. The temple is said to be built in 1700s for the protection of sea farers.

Hidden gem in Causeway Bay area, typical Taoist temple with lots of incense smoke and incense coils on the ceiling, featuring two lateral dragon gates and tiger / dragon murals on opposite walls. Outside it was a system of decorative running water, which gives it a nice and cool atmosphere, especially during the warmer days.

A beautiful temple in the middle of the city. This temple is built in the 18th century and a lot of beautiful details to be appreciated.

Lovely tranquil temple, I was the only one there most of the time. Came out smelling of incense, so if you are going on to somewhere else you should be aware of the aroma.

Small temple that is worth a visit if you’re in the area. Be prepared to be followed around by concerned temple caretakers.

This particular Tin Hau Temple was built in the 1870s and is largely in its original form. The exterior is of a typical Tin Hau design with two dragon statue figures on the top of the roof and many figures carved into the wall which are worth inspecting. They are clearly showing their age and seem simpler in design compared to those found at more elaborate or recently restored Tin Hau Temples. Inside we particularly liked the tiger and dragon wall murals as well as two large god statues. There are a couple of small rooms filled with various statues too and of course, burning traditional incense coils. Around 4-5 minutes walk from the Tin Hau temple, there is another, lesser known temple called the Lin Ka Fung Temple. This temple is recessed along Tung Lo Wan Road. In contrast, Lin Ka Fung is a Kwun Yum temple and offers an architectural comparison, worth a quick look for those eager to see more of the Hong Kong temple scene. Other Tin Hau temples of note that can be visited in Hong Kong include those in Stanley, Sai Kung and Ya Ma Tei among many other smaller temples spread around HK, dedicated to Tin Hau.
