When visiting a temple, church or other place of worship, dress respectfully, keep your voice down and follow any rules on photography. Lunar New Year, major religious festivals and weekends draw the biggest crowds, and some places only open at set times; if you want to join a service or ceremony, check the timetable first. Some temples are especially crowded at Lunar New Year and on deity birthdays, so avoid peak times.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 09:00–17:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2527 0804. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is temples.tungwahcsd.org, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.
It has a Google rating of 4.0 out of 5 from 83 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

Small but interesting as it's built on huge bolders

Located in the neighborhood of Wanchai right in the middle of the commercial district is Hung Shing Temple. It's a small temple. You can get incense here by giving a donation. This isn't really for tourists but is a place of worship.

The marvels of this Chinese temple right in between a busy road caught my eye. It's an amazing piece of culture and heritage amidst a fast paced modern city. Stop by to take a photo but watch out for the heavy human and vehicle traffic. If you are entering the temple, keep your volume low and make a donation where you can to support preservation efforts.

Very nice. The Temple is one of the forty-two temples dedicated to Hung Shing in the HK. It was probably built in 1847. It is a beautiful place and picturesque. It is worth a visit.

Cultural remnant of folk worship and ancestral shrine. Old photos of deceased clan members are inside. Seems to be one of the oldest remaining buildings in Wanchai and is classified as Grade 1 Historical site. Hope the Antiquities Board can maintain it better.

An interesting attraction to see in Wan Chai is the Hung Shing Temple. This is a Grade I historical building situated along the busy Queen's Road East. Opening hours 9am to 5pm daily. This temple started off as a simple shrine on top of shoreline rocks directly on the harbour. Later the first temple was constructed here around 1850. Massive land reclamations since that time have resulted in the temple now being in the busy urban and commercial area of Wan Chai while the harbour is now only found much further north. The temple is dedicated to Hung Shing, the protector of fisherman and sea traders. It is of typical 19h-century Chinese temple architecture, featuring grey brick walls, a simple entrance with a decorative porch and roof. The interior is a simple two hall structure with numerous deity figures, items of worship. Overall, the Hung Shing Temple is smaller and less impressive than others you may plan to visit around the city. However, it remains interesting and worth a quick look inside if you plan to spend time in the Wanchai area and enjoy seeing buildings of historical value during your travels.

Amazing place but only this house is amazing, around there is normal city area. Honestly speaking no value to visit only here as purpose of your visit Wan Chai. I recommend to visit Wan Chai for another purpose then visit there during your spare time. Outside of temple is historical artistic and inside ceremonious but small.
