Doctors in Hong Kong must be registered with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, whose register can be searched online. Most private clinics take appointments and many also take same-day walk-in registrations; bring your Hong Kong ID card. Many GP consultation fees include a few days' medicine, but fees vary, so ask first. People aged 65 or over can use Elderly Health Care Vouchers towards many private healthcare services. Many clinics take a break at midday and in the late afternoon, so check consultation hours before going.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Stay CLEAR!!! Firstly, it's EMPTY, doubt many repeat patients and for good reason. Only went to him because my usual Doctor was away. I tried explaining what happened and showed him pictures of my wound but it was already wrapped and it's best not to disturb the would while healing. He basically called me liar (not in those words exactly) and then gave me very alarming medical advice that involved extreme measures with regards to a deep laceration of my right hand. I went to a different doctor IMMEDIATELY after leaving here for a 2nd opinion. The 2nd opinion confirmed that his advice was hasty, unnecessary, harmful etc. Please just go somewhere else, you don't need this when your sick or hurt.

Absolutely horrible experience with this doctor. I sprained my ankle and its swollen and bruised. He quietly notes down my explanation of the sprain, and just tells me I should rest. He doesn’t even look at my ankle. I ask about sick leave for the next, he says ‘why you need sick leave? What field are you in?’ I thought okay, sure I can limp myself to work I guess. But then I ask sick leave for that day, he says ‘why you need it? You’re walking fine’. Thinking back, I don’t know why I had to explain to him why I needed sick leave that day. I don’t understand why this doctor was so against me doing physio. I asked him for referral letter for a physio, because I’ve always gone to a physio after injuries and it’s the only way to recover well. He says ‘huh? You don’t need physio, you need rest’. Never have I come across a doctor like this. He needs to retire. Would not recommend him to anyone.

Very bad experience. I couldn’t wake up this morning due to stomach pain I went to see him in the afternoon. He simply prescribed some medicines and didn’t explain anything. When I asked for sick leave he said “Why? You ve been having this for few days” and when I tried to explain it wasn’t as intense for past few days he didn’t even give me chance to speak and said “you know what I’m not going to argue with you. Sure” very rude and I will never come back to this clinic again. The receptionist are indeed very nice.

The receptionists are okay nice but the doctor is not nice. Most of the time he behave like he’s so annoyed to see you. Will ask you what’s your problem you tell him, he ask you many days of sick leave you want? But I don’t even want or need sick leave, I’m there because I’m not well and I want to know what’s wrong with me. I still keep going there cuz it’s just next to where I live and it’s under my company insurance. Recently went to see him about my tailbone which hurts for 3-4 months already. He started explaining to me “you just need time to recover, don’t advise you to do X-ray”. Then I say so I just leave the pain which is getting worse. Finally then he say I can refer you to physio but it’s going to take up so much of your time. I’m like so I should not do anything and let the pain continue? So ridiculous. A doctor with no compassion. Really no wonder when I go there it’s always empty. Sometimes I wonder how the clinic survive. I still give two stars because if you want to see doctor fast and you don’t want to queue, this is your go to clinic.
