Open until 6pm which is great if you're busy during the day. Usually not much wait on weekdays too. It can be a bit confusing to navigate because the services are split up between the two floors. I send a lot of mail to overseas and sometimes it's hard to tell which floor I need to be on. You can buy postal stationery on the 2/F and also do your iAM Smart registration. It's close to ifc and Central station but when there's renovations going on, it can be a farther walk.

Thank you! My postcard has arrived after 13 days! Sent 01.01.2026 Cancellation stamp from Central Mail Centre 03.01.2026 Arrived 14.01.2026 Too bad I didn't get the special postmark. Hopefully next time can make time when I visit Hong Kong to visit this general post office and go to the philatelic centre and post shop!

The general post office was an old building. Nevertheless, it was still an active and busy part of the community. Different services were offered in two stories and well organized in the spacious area. Natural light entered into the hall through the long glass wall. Footbridge was connected to the commercial blocks nearby and also the piers. Escalators and staircases were available. Historical items were displayed in the exhibition corner. There were a number of memorable chops free for stamping on envelopes, postcards, papers, etc., which was a good experience for tourists. Staff were polite and spoke fluent English. It was a great place for a short visit.

Most people don’t know there is a small history corner in Head of Post Office Nowadays, you are difficult to find a ER post box on the street but you can find it here. I visited one of the ER post boxes at Oxford, UK. The most surprising thing for me is Stamp Vending Machines already provided service from 1995. Technology ran faster than my imagination!
