Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

This was my first time visiting a post office in Hong Kong since moving here, and I had a great experience. The staff were very helpful and communication was easy. I needed to ship a package overseas to Korea, and the process was much easier than I expected. Boxes are available for purchase at the post office, and the staff will help tape and prepare the package at the counter. There are several shipping options available depending on your needs. I chose the 1–2 day express option for a package weighing close to 4 kg. The shipping cost was HK$399, and the carton box cost an additional HK$17. This option also included a tracking number. After packing your items, you scan the QR code on the box and complete the online form. You'll need to provide your Hong Kong phone number, recipient’s information, and declare the contents of the package. I believe you can also complete the form beforehand to save some time. Once completed, show the QR code to the staff, and they will print the necessary documents for you. There was no line when I visited, although there were many people coming in and out for quick services. The tracking took a little while to update after the package left the

Hong Kong gets a lot of things right, and the post office is one of them. This particular location is no exception: the staff are kind, helpful, and efficient, and I can always get everything I need to get done in just a few minutes. Other than the lunchtime peak, there’s barely a queue, if at all. Thanks, HK Post!

This post office is a fantastic local institution. I have been here several times over the years and the postal clerks always provide very friendly and helpful service. This branch is not like the larger Hong Kong post offices, which seem fully automated -- the staff will often direct you to the apps, for example. There are times when I really need human service, and this office provides it. I think the Mid-Levels/Central area is lucky to have its own excellent post office, in such a convenient location!

I almost never review essential services like post offices but Ms Chan the postmaster does an excellent job with her team. Having been to different PO branches over the years with sub-par or typically mediocre HK-standard service, the team here deserves a shout out:)

As a tourist I was just passing by or rather lost on this street when I happened to see a Post Office and a vending machine outside. I love sending postcards but where I live in India, they keep losing my postcards 😔. The vending machine outside got me excited to collect stamps, that's my husband's hobby (Currency and stamps). I went inside and stood in line, waited for my turn and the person behind the counter helped me with my query. The next moment we were buying stamps, not one but many 😁 . All thanks to Mr. Lam Ho Fai who patiently helped us as we stood as excited as kids in a candy shop. Thank you from India 🙏
