Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

A few times here and this is continuously great. Food is innovative, fresh and great. The chicken is a must ! They have a fantastic choice of beers. Service is super nice, always friendly. They even have a small terrace.

In Wan Chai, where bars spill light onto the tram tracks and the crowds rarely thin before midnight, Yum Kwun hums with a kind of curated chaos — a Thai fusion spot that feels both confidently urban and disarmingly warm. The menu opens with a jolt: raw Thai prawns in a fiery, lime-bright sauce that lands with precision, not bluster. Golden cuttlefish cakes follow — crisped to a near-perfect shell, the interiors cloud-soft, their subtle seafood sweetness amplified by a glossy kumquat oil that gleams like lacquer. Roast chicken, juicy beneath a shattering skin, proves the kitchen understands restraint as well as exuberance. The skewers offer straightforward pleasure — smoke, spice, and tender meat at prices that might make you order a second round without guilt. The crab curry with fluffy naan delivers rich, aromatic comfort in every scoop, its creamy heat balanced by fresh basil bursts. Inside, the glow of colored lights and the buoyant hum of diners make for an atmosphere less about contemplation than celebration. Yum Kwun isn’t chasing tradition; it’s chasing the joy of the bite — vibrant, flavorful, and unmissably fun.

Run, don't walk, to Yum Kwun! Amazing array of Thai dishes, and their signature Yellow Chicken is without a doubt, the best prepared chicken I have ever tasted. I highly recommend to others, and will undoubtedly return the next time I visit Hong Kong.

Quite good value for money for the set lunch. Came with a starter (corn soup), main and a drink. Ordered the Korean style BBQ pork and the roasted half-chicken with Thai yellow curry sauce. Both delicious, lots of char grilled flavours and a generous portion. Really liked the Thai milk tea as well. Restaurant interior is cosy but vibey.

A place with great vibe for friends gathering, drinks, pub snacks and even serious meal. It is a tiny place which can’t even seat more than 25 but you won’t feel too crowded. Attentive helpers and a great collection of ale, wine and cocktails. They have small snack food liked skewers which were all quite nice with a good charcoal favour. There was other serious food liked noodles and rice and they were surprisingly well seasoned and made. It was a tiny bit noisy cause the vibe was high here but all manageable. It is a small stall so reservation is a must. Price is reasonable and have happy hours plus discount beyond happy hour. Great place for drink and chat.
