About 中環食街
中環食街 is listed under restaurants in Central, Central and Western. The address is 中環皇后大道中and號Shop 216, 2/F, Central Market, 80Des Voeux Road Central. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. For birthdays or office dinners, ask about private rooms, corkage and cake-cutting fees in advance.
Opening hours are not listed yet. Hours vary a lot between businesses and may change at weekends and on public holidays, so call first or check the Google Maps link on this page. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has.
It has a Google rating of 4.0 out of 5 from 27 reviews. Opinions are mixed but broadly steady, and the latest reviews are the best guide to what to expect.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Street Food Central - A Great Spot on a Rainy Day! 🌧️🍢 Our first stop was to grab some yummy food while it was raining outside, and Street Food Central turned out to be the perfect place. Everything is indoors and covered, so you can enjoy some great food without worrying about the weather. We started with top1takoyaki (Queen’s Road Central). We tried their Central Special, along with two other flavours, and they were all delicious 🍢 Right next door, you’ll find J & G, where we enjoyed their Signature Popcorn Chicken & Taiwanese Chicken Bites. Perfect comfort food for a rainy afternoon🍗 After eating, we explored the shops downstairs and found so many interesting things. We really enjoyed the combination of popular Hong Kong street food and local gift shops all in one place. The location is also super convenient, right in the heart of Central, and we enjoyed taking a walk around the neighbourhood afterwards. A fun little spot to explore, especially when the weather isn’t on your side. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Central 🇭🇰

One of very few places in Hong Kong with a genuine and tasty food court. Great variety of outlets. Plenty of seating - indoors pand outside. There are veggie options, but not enough. Quality of food is good and prices excellent. Thoroughly recommended for all.

A great spot for a snack shop, with a few cute little shops vying for quick bites. This is a great choice if you just want to try some different foods in a hurry.

I love beef noodle soup in Taiwan, so I gave it a try at the "Chew Taiwan" stall at Dining Ground. Unfortunately it turned out to be a major disappointment. My bowl had three huge chunks of meat that were super tough and impossible to bite through. I ended up only eating the noodles with soup, and it felt like such a waste. Never again, I will have to wait for my next trip to Taiwan. Other than that, Dining Ground is a convenient and nice enough place in Central to meet up for lunch without a reservation, and there's something for every taste (even though I'm missing the Italian stall that has disappeared). Ordering is convenient by QR code, but if your seat is far away from the stall you picked, collecting your food can be tricky if you have to navigate through the crowds (especially if you're balancing a big bowl of soup!). Prices are okay for such type of lunch, but pricey when compared to the authentic originals of the same dishes - and as outlined above, the quality doesn't live up to the higher price.
