Since the end of 2022 plastic shopping bags cost HK$1 each, so bring your own; Octopus and e-payments are common, but not every market stall accepts them. Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

I wet markets around the world and this was a great experience. Getting to see the freshest produce of the country and the ingredients that the locals cook with is a great way to know the culture according to me. The variety if seafood, vegetables and meat, along with the good quality and freshness is often missing in a metropolitan city. Great to see that HK residents have access to this. There is also a lot fresh fruit, collectibles and food vendors around this market building.

Food was mediocre, don’t expect much with the environment and services. They did have a range of options and ‘hot pot’ on the menu, which tasted good as usual. However the surroundings are very noisy, occasional smell and don’t expect it to be clean. This is the norm with most cooked food centres in Hong Kong though it’s fine to experience the indoor dai pai dong if you came as a tourist, but be wary.

Excellent and fresh range of produce on the ground and first floors. There is a food court on the second floor. Hygiene standards not for the squeamish!

A wet market around SSP area - you got everything for your cooking needs and you can access cooked food stalls too. For local vibes only. It’s untidy and super wet for some ppls.

good place for chinese traditional foods. although the environment will be very noisy, but the chinese foods available here are 100% chinese tradition. expect the menu to be in chinese though.
