Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. Dim sum restaurants usually charge a per-person tea fee, and dishes are priced by size; weekend mornings from about 10:00 to lunchtime are the busiest, and many places give out queue tickets. Book wedding and birthday banquets months ahead.

Opening hours: daily, 07:30–15:30 and 17:30–24:00. It opens every day of the week. There is a break between the lunch and dinner sessions. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. You can call 8300 8084; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is taoheung.com.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

Been here several times when I stayed within the vicinity and I liked the fact that they open very early. Dim sum are steamed once order has been placed so be prepared to wait, a wide option of selections amd above average standard.

Great place to dine in Hong Kong. Live seafood which tastes fantastic for a good price as compared to many restaurants in Asia. Go to the outlet located at B1 behind Holiday Inn Tsim Sha Tsui

very old hong kong style restaurant, perhaps not for tourists waitress never smiled while taking our order and we couldn’t believe the waitress burped while serving our food. we visit this place once before covid and the taste was a lot better back then. this time the taste was mediocre the duck was extremely fatty and oily, left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

Initially enjoyed the breakfast dim sum as it was good atmosphere with families and locals. We tried dinner and had the worst steam fish ever where it was overcooked (middle section was hard and rubbery). We told staff and was simply told “sorry.” No compensation, no reason to come back. Would not recommend for anything but dim sum. And also, there was a small cockroach on table that scurried away. 😫

I was looking for a very traditional Hong Kong Chinese restaurant and found this place. It fit what I was looking for so I went for breakfast one weekday morning. The restaurant immediately gave me the atmospheric Hong Kong feel and I was glad as I always liked to dine in such surroundings. I was asked which tea I preferred and given my seat. It was mostly elderly locals having their tea and gatherings so I know that I made the right choice. I ordered 8 different items and they came sequentially as and when they were ready. All the items I had are up to the usual Hong Kong standards. I don't really have to go through each food item in detail as I found them all well made and delicious! You can see them from my photos. The service was also very friendly and homely as the aunties were all kind and helpful. Very happy about their level of service! I had a wonderful solo meal here and I definitely will return when I'm back in Hong Kong in future!
