Parks, beaches and heritage sites are busiest on holiday afternoons, so go on a weekday or early in the morning for some quiet. Beaches run by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department have lifeguards during the swimming season, and you should not swim when they are off duty; some historic buildings are private or only partly open, so check visiting hours first. In summer, avoid hiking at midday, carry plenty of water and take extra care when the Very Hot Weather Warning is in force.
Opening hours: daily, 07:00–23:00. It is open seven days a week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. You can call 2741 4044; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. More information is on its website, lcsd.gov.hk.

Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

Nice small playground for the children and seating area for parents.. although there is the street to watch for, most of the children's playground has a barrier of not only posts but trees and seating area that children cannot run out on their own, (it should go without saying) if parents or guardians are watching them.. There is also a big track and field, and a basketball court that is fenced up.. All in all, a nice area for leisure and sports activities.. Nicely lit in the evening as well, to sit and enjoy the outdoors..

Good place for locals to keep fitness and play games, specially for age old football teams gathering with sports sprit some time to celebrate local community dinner and culture events.
