HaTo is a pub or bar in Wan Chai, at 1/F, 7 Mallory St, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.
Under Hong Kong law, businesses may not sell or supply alcohol to anyone under 18, so bars may ask for ID. Many run happy-hour deals in the early evening, weekends are the liveliest, and some venues have a minimum spend or a cover charge; for live music or private events, ask for details first.
Opening hours: Mon closed, Tue–Thu 16:00–24:00, Fri–Sat 16:00–01:00, Sun closed. That makes 5 working days a week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 9013 7553. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. It is a mobile number, and many local businesses also answer enquiries on WhatsApp.
It has a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 91 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.
