Came in for lunch at Jimmy's Kitchen and ordered the chicken à la king, it was delicious. So Creamy, comforting, and flavor. The vibe of the place is really lovely too, old-school charm but still cozy. Couldn't help but notice the table next to us had the Baked Alaska, and it looked stunning. Already planning my next visit just for that! Definitely coming back to Jimmy's for sure.

Gave me a fantastic birthday experience to be cherished forever! The maître d' took note of my birthday request and wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate. They even got me a birthday card with a lovely picture. I'm in awe of the staff's friendliness. As for the food, the chicken Kiev was fun to cut and eat. The oozing sauce..m sheer perfection. I love mashed potatoes so much. The wagyu tartar was exquisite, didn't expect the hot sauce to add to the layers instead of dominating it. The steak Diane was far better than expected, giving just the right balance between texture and edible-ness (is that a word? no). BAKED ALASKA. My absolute favorite. So delicious I missed it already. It was a classic physics question which I didn't expect to go on the dining table in front of me! It was a delightful dining experience. Thank you for making this my unforgettable birthday, all.

Jimmy’s Kitchen in the Pedder Building is a long-standing Hong Kong institution, dating back to the 1920s. It leans heavily into nostalgia, offering a classic Western dining experience that feels rooted in the HK pre-1997 era. We tried the weekend lunch set menu, which includes a choice of starter. We went with avocado toast, beef tartare, salmon sushi, and Caesar salad. The starters were fresh and well-executed, and easily the highlight of the meal. For mains, we had the chicken à la king, beef stroganoff, and their signature fish. Unfortunately, these were underwhelming overall, chicken à la king was watery, stroganoff lacking the depth and execution you might expect at this price point. Dessert was more enjoyable. Their signature Baked Alaska comes with a brief flame presentation, adding a bit of theatre to the experience, though the portion is smaller compared to ordering it à la carte. I wanted to give a higher rating as the service was attentive and polished throughout. The restaurant clearly caters to those looking for a nostalgic dining experience, but given the pricing, the food may not fully justify the cost. Steak frites was SO GOOD - overview of full experience: Jimmy’s Kitchen was a really enjoyable dining experience overall. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere stood out in the best way possible. The vibe was fun, spunky, and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The music, colorful decor, and lively crowd gave the restaurant a personality that made the night feel exciting and memorable. It felt like the kind of place where you could relax, laugh with friends, and stay longer than planned. The food itself was definitely the highlight. Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The portions were satisfying, and you could tell care went into the presentation as well as the taste. Every dish had a nice balance of seasoning and texture, and there was something comforting yet creative about the menu. The only downside was the service, which could have been a little better. The staff was polite, but things moved a bit slowly at times, and it sometimes felt difficult to get attention when needed. We had a wonderful time at Jimmy’s Kitchen this afternoon. They offer an excellent happy hour deal with great service and a lovely ambiance. The free-flowing bar snacks were an added bonus that made the experience even more enjoyable."
