About Le Chefeteria

Le Chefeteria, located in the quiet of Causeway Bay operates under the theme of “Artisanal Handmade from the Heart”. A fine-dining destination offering European continental cuisine with SE Asian crossover elements, here you will find homemade breads and flavoured butters to accompany dishes cooked using only organic, GMO free, cold pressed oils, with all sauces and even all chicken, beef, vegetable, fish, and seafood stocks made from scratch! The restaurant features a solid white quartz preparation table, so you can watch chefs tossing roti, kneading fresh egg pasta, and plating dishes directly in front of you in the stately, yet convivial dining room.

We also offer a private dining room for 5 pax and a small balcony for fresh air.

"唔識就嚇死,識就笑死" — As hospitality industry veterans, my guests and I were thoroughly unimpressed. First, this is not French Fine Dining as advertised on OpenRice; it is Southeast Asian (Bali/Thai style) fusion heavily loaded with spices and herbs. Soup: The $98 upgraded "Deluxe Lobster Bisque" was bland and watery because of their "no cream" recipe. The unpeeled Spanish red prawn inside had mushy meat, making it messy and unrefined to eat. For a fine dining spot, leaving the shell on in a soup forces guests to awkwardly peel it with their teeth/mouth, which is completely unrefined. Main: The Salmon with Lemon Butter Sauce was shockingly tough and overcooked. Dessert: Banana Roti—tasted okay, but completely out of place for a French restaurant. Service: The manager tried to give formal fine-dining table introductions, but delivered them like a North Korean news anchor—loud, extremely fast (3x speed), robotic, and intrusive. She kept repeating how proud they were of using "no cream" and "lemon," which added zero value to the dining experience. Atmosphere: The interior feels like a cozy home kitchen. The cute painted plates give off a casual pizza joint vibe rather than upscale Fren

Private kitchen serving French-Southeast Asian fusion, $238 lunch set including soup, main, and dessert. Overall great value for the quality. 🥣 Soup: You can choose between lobster bisque or tomato mint soup. The lobster bisque is rich, bold, and full of flavour. The tomato mint is sour in a refreshing way. Honestly, it comes down to personal preference, both are good in their own way. 🥩 Mains:
The crispy pork hock (+$28) was my absolute favourite — crunchy skin, tender and flavourful meat, definitely worth the add-on. The beef rendang short ribs (+$98) was also a standout — bold, tender, and packed with spice (limited to lunch, so get it while you can). If you're in the mood for pasta, the duck leg confit risotto was quite nice — the risotto was flavorful, although i got the duck was quite dry. I also tried the tuna tom yum fresh egg pasta (+$48) — the sauce was great, but the pasta was too thick and hard for my liking. And for the table, the smoky beef carpaccio (+$128) is a good sharing option. 🍮 Dessert:
Dessert was a fun one — everyone at the table had a different favourite. Tiramisu, banana roti, lemon cheesecake, and spiced carrot cake. My personal pick was the carrot cak

I came here because of HSBC restaurant week spring 2026. The Coconut Husk-smoked 6 oz. Argentinian Black Angus Tenderloin with mashed potato, veggies, and Thai Tamarind Soy Sauce was really good. The HK style Black Pepper Sauce Red Wine-braised Beef Shank with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and homemade pickles was alright. Tiramisu was okay. The cappuccino was free after following their Instagram, but it wasn't very good.

Looking for a spot for an unforgettable celebration? Le Chefeteria should be one of your top choices! It is a hidden gem specializing in blending French techniques with Indonesian/Southeast Asian ingredients. It is an intimate private kitchen serving dishes made of fresh and well-sourced ingredients. On top of their mouthwatering dishes, it is famous for its intricate dessert plating, featuring customized, hand-drawn art for celebrations like birthdays or anniversaries. It is highly recommended for romantic dates and special celebrations. Give it a go. You will not regret it!

Really wanted to like this place. Anticipated it all week. Food was decent, but could’ve been better. Big oof on operating standards for a supposedly Michelin‑trained establishment. Food. Baby ribs came out dry and overcooked, risotto undercooked to the point of crunch. Serving temperature leaned cold, which didn’t help. Service. No dish explanations, just plopped down, cha chaan teng style. Forgot to ask about sauce choice for the ribs. No check‑ins during the meal. No questions on allergies or dietary needs. Served my wife’s coffee five minutes before mine. Dessert arrived with wrong utensils, wrong placement, and dishes cleared in the wrong order. Unpleasant surprise. A full‑on cussing war broke out in the kitchen, live, in front of customers. Saving grace. The hand‑drawn dessert plate was genuinely heartwarming. Verdict. Solid three. No more, no less.
