Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Green curry pork is good & the minced beef also. Only the problem is dessert came first before the main dish. So it was on the table for a long time and the sticky rice got dried.. also the sticky rice is about to expire..

I’ve frequented this establishment several times in the past few years and it’s deserving of an honest review. It’s probably the only Southeast Asian restaurant I know of in HK that has a variety of dishes from all SEA including Thai, Indo, Singaporean/Malay, Viet and even Indian. Every dish I’ve had - the Hainan chicken, the Malay beef brisket curry, the Thai pig trotter, etc. has been very good and given with generous portions. I would give them a 5 star rating except the drinks are sold separately (and they’re overpriced for this type of casual restaurant) and not included for a small fee with a meal, at least not during dinner time. Perhaps they have a lunch set.

I tried the Hainan chicken (no blood!) and it was great. Too bad the toilet was not what you would expect from a nice restaurant otherwise all good. Well done.

From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat. This Thai restaurant isn’t just a place to eat — it’s an experience, a journey, a culinary love letter to authentic Thai flavors. The menu? A stunning array of options that caters to every craving, whether you're in the mood for something light and zesty or rich and savory. Each dish is a masterclass in balance — fresh herbs, bold spices, and perfectly cooked proteins that come together in a symphony of flavor. But what truly sets this place apart is the freshness. You can taste it in every bite — the crisp vegetables, the aromatic basil, the tender meats that practically melt on your tongue. It’s clear that quality ingredients and care go into every plate that leaves the kitchen. I’ve dined at countless Thai spots, but this one? This one stands above the rest. I would highly recommend it to anyone who values food that’s both flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. Whether you're a die-hard Thai food lover or just curious to try something new, this place deserves a spot at the top of your list. Trust me — one visit won’t be enough.

I went to Ma Thai just before closing time. The owners were professional and very helpful. The food was delicious and well-served, though a bit pricey. I ordered the Thai Yellow Curry, skewers (which were considered a main dish), and dessert, which reminded me of the flavors from Bali. The bill was higher than expected, as it felt like I had ordered two main dishes along with dessert. I'd consider coming back, but next time I'll stick to just one main dish.
