About PIN TO THAI

Thai street food. Tasty, affordable, Pinto-style. 泰國街頭美食 地道抵食 Pinto美味

PIN TO THAI is an Asian restaurant in Wan Chai, at shop C G/F, 48-50 Johnston Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.

When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Spice levels at Thai, Vietnamese and other Asian restaurants can usually be adjusted, so say so when ordering.

Google lists the opening hours as Mon closed, Tue–Sun 12:00–21:30. That makes 6 working days a week. It opens on Sunday too, like most places to eat in Hong Kong. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 5275 6328; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. It is a mobile number, and many local businesses also answer enquiries on WhatsApp. Its website is facebook.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

It has a Google rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 150 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

This is my go-to Thai spot—a street-style hole-in-the-wall run by locals. Their pad see ew is probably the best in town, and I also love the beef boat noodles and morning glory. I really enjoy the chilled, authentic street-food atmosphere.

Small place. Place could hold up to 9-10 customers at best. Very limited space between tables where you could actually hear everything from the table next to you. Definitely not suitable for group gathering. 3 persons group size is already very crowded. Food tasted good and authentic. Relatively small portions but given the affordable prices I still think it is reasonable (this is Wan Chai).

A cute small street-food looking Thai restaurant. Amazing boat noodles, stir fried flat noodle and papaya salad. Only 10 seats. Highly recommended!

Went twice, ordered something different each time and the food was absolutely excellent - flavourful, fresh, and they aren’t shy with the spices. Extremely reasonable pricing for the quality and location -I paid 65 for a beautiful, instagrammable bowl of Yen Ta Fo Tom Yum noodles - and quick service. No wonder they had a queue out front when I went back. Will be back many many more times hopefully 🤞

Quite a decent line at the shop during lunch hours because there’s only 9 seats inside. It’s not ideal for groups larger than two, so be prepared to wait for a seat and your order, especially if you don’t opt for the lunch sets. I tried the classic Thai basil minced pork with fried egg (65$) and it’s alright. Not quite like the flavour like I had in Kowloon city, which I preferred. It’s less oily and less spicy, less traditional but accustomed to the local/expat taste. Or perhaps because of the busy hour compromised the quality. The staffs are Thai and can speak Canto and English! I like the ambience, it’s small but in a sense authentic. Ordered the Thai milk tea (+10$ with lunch set), which was a great deal!!! It’s flavourful with a hint of floral in the tea. I highly recommend adding the drink!! Alternatively you can order takeout, you can telephone order your set and pay when you get there so you can skip the line
