About 善膳坊

善膳坊, a vegetarian restaurant in Sham Shui Po, is at 九龍塘尾元州街13號. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted.

When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Some vegetarian restaurants are fully vegan while others use eggs and dairy, so ask if it matters to you.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 11:30–21:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 9221 7166. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. It is a mobile number, and many local businesses also answer enquiries on WhatsApp.

At 4.2 out of 5 on Google (88 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

That is an incredible cafe: they have diverse menu, good prices, enough calories and even protein in the food. The interior has some design, which is already great for mostly rusty HK cafes (not because they are bad, but usually because they work non-stop. They provide delicious soups to the dishes, and they prepare their own cheap and tasty drinks. It’s a very healthy and always surprising cafe. I especially like their congee from japonica and vegan Yangzhou rice

A great vegetarian place where the food and the service are superb. Each of the lunch set (a dish, big bowl of rice and soup) cost $58. I was very hungry but couldn't have so much carbs, so I had 2 dishes and asked for reduced rice. The first dish I had was the eggplant dish. It is not oily at all (as most eggplant dish are rather more oily to retain the texture and color). The sweet and sour dish is so yummy. The seitan they used is not hard not too chewy, it was soft and fresh inside that a very good balance of seitan and soy! The soup is delicious where you can tell they used a good amount of the ingredients (beans and gourds) to give the richness to the soup. This is a shop that also gives out charity meals for elderlies. Highly recommend to have a meal and give a meal

Located at the corner of Un Chau Street, Sin Sin Fong Vegetarian Restaurant is a cozy vegan restaurant with excellent food. We loved their famous Thai hotpot which was both filling and flavourful. The Dan Dan noodles were not bad, peanut sauce felt a little diluted. Although menus were only in Chinese, staff were friendly and spoke English. They helped out with translation. Also no service charge! I am definitely coming back.

All the dishes we ordered were delicious. Comfortable dining area with air conditioning. Food arrived quickly. Service was friendly with great recommendations. Menu is in chinese only but translation app accurately displayed the menu items. The staff was also great at describing the dishes to us. Definitely worth multiple visits.

Dining time (7:44pm dinner) follow@wojengyea/@wo!正嘢 for more food info🐒 Support us in discovering more delicious food! 😋 My partner recommends this vegetarian restaurant, even though it's a 15-minute walk from Cheung Sha Wan Station. As soon as you sit down, they serve two bowls of vegetarian soup🥣 . The ingredients include mung beans, carrots🥕, pumpkin🎃, corn🌽, peanuts🥜, cashews, and more. It's fresh and flavorful without any MSG. (Not for you Uncle Roger lol) I ordered a bowl of “pepper pig stomach soup” for $38, which contains two-three types of mushrooms🍄(white mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms), tofu, pickled vegetables, vegetarian pig stomach (crispy texture similar to pig stomach), and a rich and spicy pepper flavor. It's served hot and is personally very comforting.♨️ I didn't have high expectations for the bowl of vegetarian dumplings🥟 and dan dan noodles for $59 because I didn't think it would taste good. But to my surprise, it was really good‼️I immediately tried the soup base of the dan dan noodles, and it was delicious! You could taste the addition of Sichuan peppercorn oil and peanut sauce in the soup base, which was very fragrant. The bowl of noodles came with tomato🍅,
