Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

素年 (Years) in Sham Shui Po quietly excels at elevated plant-based cooking, delivering a vibrant, generously portioned Super 16 All Day Breakfast ($138) that feels both nourishing and indulgent. The golden vegan croissant arrives with textbook lamination—shatteringly crisp, burnished exterior yielding to ethereally flaky, open-crumb layers that practically melt. Silky turmeric-scrambled tofu carries subtle aromatic depth, while sweet-glazed baby carrots and blistered cherry tomatoes provide bright, caramelised pops against peppery organic greens dotted with juicy blueberries. A small crock of vivid green olive-nut pesto offers luxurious, herbaceous creaminess perfect for dragging through crisp zucchini coins or smearing across the croissant. The accompanying iced long black cuts cleanly through the richness with bold, rounded acidity. Only a minor deduction prevents a perfect score: the golden-fried elements, while well-seasoned, arrived slightly softer than ideal, missing that last degree of shatter and textural contrast. Still, 素年 demonstrates real culinary craft—fresh, thoughtfully sourced ingredients handled with care and presented with colour and generosity. A confident ch

Great vegan food in HK, though I feel like the menu choices at their other branch in Sham Shui Po were more appealing. We got complimentary apples. I got the coconut spaghetti which had a pretty unique flavour profile. The risottos, on the other hand, were good but didn't exceed any expectations.

Quiet, intimate and being a big meat eater I was expecting to like the food, but not as much as I actually did. I had the coriander burger and it was unbelievably good. I haven't had a burger that good in a while. The sauce and the abundance of coriander was a dream that combined perfectly with the impossible meat and it did taste a lot better than a ton of burgers I've eaten recently. The coffee here is wonderful too. I only ever drink one cup or two a day and I was close to 3 or 4 when I left. We went with a very tetchy toddler and 4 very hungry adults and came away highly satisfied. The pork cutlet risotto was fantastic too. We've ordered kitchenware from here before and we are in love with the place after a first visit. Thank you to everyone at Years who looked after us and more importantly, my tired, cranky, little boy.

This is the best vegan restaurant in Hong Kong!!! I would give it 100 stars out of 5 if it’s allowed!!! Best food and best services too!!! The staff was so welcoming, even giving iced tea to people who queued outside the restaurant. This is what we call unreasonable hospitality that exceeds anyone’s expectation! This restaurant is our favourite out of all 4 YEARS!!! We would eat here everyday!!! We are here again today and they have a NEW MENU!!!! OMG It’s mind blowing amazing!!!

The Tom yum flavoured risotto is very special! A must try if you like spicy food. The coriander risotto is lovely as well and suited just right for my love of coriander. The portions of the risotto are so big I had to take it home for another meal. Sweet potato chips are done perfectly, not too dry yet crispy on the outside. I would love to try out their other branches.
