Went during CNY and was asked to pay double of the normal price of 250hkd. Bill was 500 hkd instead. The reason was because it was a “Peak” period but the service was nothing out of the ordinary. Towels were dirty with hair and the masters there can barely see properly so certain sections were not even for both hair and beard. I am an old customers of theirs when they used to be at the previous location but honestly despite moving to another newly renovated modern shop, the service just keeps deteriorating and not worth the money. A sad reality of the current state of HK.

It's always nice to find a place that maintains the traditional barber shop atmosphere. The reasonable prices are definitely a plus as well. However, it's unfortunate that they charge double the usual price during the Chinese New Year period. While it's understandable that businesses may increase their prices during peak seasons, it's always good to be aware of such changes in advance. Overall, it sounds like a decent option for a traditional barber shop experience, as long as you're mindful of any holiday-related price adjustments.

Originally located on Wan Chai Road, this traditional Shanghainese barber has recently moved to its newly renovated spot. With decades of experience, the Shanghainese Shifu pays meticulous attention to detail. While the store has been beautifully refurbished to capture the essence of 1950s Hong Kong, the Shifus continue to work their magic with the same trusty tools they’ve always used. The barber chairs, basins, and hairdryers are nearly 70 years old but still going strong! In a time when many traditional Shanghainese barbers are closing their doors, 上海新聯邦 deserves great respect for keeping this craft alive and thriving. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in experiencing a traditional haircut performed by friendly staff right in the heart of Wan Chai.

It was my first time to try out a Shanghai Style service. It was a incredibly nice experience, all the barbers 老師傳are super professional and care givers, the whole set was a mashauche, trim, hair cut, bread trim experience, when you finish you face glows and is so clean. It also reminded me of my grandpa as they talk with much love and consideration. It is a must try experience and a sustainable pick of choice. These kinds of barber stores are decading they need support and preservation, please give dignity to yourself and them. Enjoy you day!
