About Uncle Ming's Whisky Bar
Uncle Ming's Whisky Bar crowns the 25th top floor of AKI Hotel Hong Kong – MGallery Collection as an iconic expression of Hong Kong: a house of light suspended above the city where visitors will experience the unexpected but delightful mix of an engaging whisky tasting experience, and a sparkling backdrop of skyscrapers and mountains.
Uncle Ming's Whisky Bar is listed under pubs & bars in Wan Chai. The address is 25/F, 香港明怡美憬閣精選酒店239 Jaffe Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating. The address puts it on an upper floor of a building (an "upstairs shop", very common in Hong Kong), so note the floor and unit number; lifts can be slow at busy times, and some older buildings only have stairs.
Bars, karaoke venues and clubs keep late hours, some until the early morning, though many close earlier from Sunday to Thursday. Tables and karaoke rooms can be booked by phone or WhatsApp, and big groups should book early; if you have been drinking, take a taxi or public transport home and never drink and drive.
Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Thu 17:00–24:00, Fri–Sat 17:00–02:00, Sun 17:00–24:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has. Its website is instagram.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.
At 3.9 out of 5 on Google (82 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

We stayed at the AKI hotel in wan chai and this bar is their roof bar in the 25th floor. I really like the atmosphere. Classic and good views. The cocktails are nice and also all have some kind of special touch. The price is quite high…

We had amazing cocktails here – perfectly blended with very interesting and subtle flavors. One of them was made with potato, which was totally unexpected and surprisingly delicious! Great atmosphere, amazing view and a very refined cocktail experience. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy creative drinks and quality spirits

Uncle Ming's Whisky Bar is a whisky lover's paradise! The selection of whiskies is impressive, and the bartender's specials are truly creative. I had the pleasure of trying several whisky-based drinks, each expertly crafted to bring out the unique flavors of the whisky. The bartender's specials were particularly impressive, showcasing their skill and knowledge of whisky. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a dram or two. The atmosphere is very nice—a bar with a city view and a beautifully designed interior. The modern Japanese bar style gives off a luxurious vibe. The bar is very quiet, mostly visited by hotel guests, so it’s not a lively spot. The cocktails are good—not outstanding but tasty and well-balanced. The staff were good to us. Last orders are around 22:45, and the bar closes at midnight.
