Recommended place to buy fruits and vegetables. Several shops offer very good prices. This is the place that you can find almost everything.

Our experience is limited to the Food Court on 1st floor. The famous Roasted Duck and Curry Lamb restaurant, Wai Kee (Halal), has been there since moving from a Tai Pai Dong on Wanchai Road over half a century ago. Its neighbour, Kau Kee, is best known for its "Cart Noodles", a Hong Kong special style that allows you to pick your style of noodles (~6 choices) and food ingredients (20+ choices). From 11am onwards, people queue up for 20 minutes until after 2pm. Since these shops don't have to pay hefty rent, their prices are reasonable. Owners are also operators, quality of food is great and consistent. One of our favourite lunch venue. You get a nice lunch for HK$50-70 in HK nowadays, what do you think?

A real taste of the HK morning experience. Indoor and outdoor seating available, though only L1 was open indoors. What surprised me was the live fish kept in shallow tanks — one even jumped out before being put back. Felt quite cruel to watch. Still, this stop made my HK trip feel complete.

The old-style meat and fish/seafood market; the latter as fresh as it gets! Like others before me have mentioned, it’s not for the squeamish, with the attendant sights and odours! If you’re a meat lover and love cooking it, then this is the place to source stuff. One section has prime cuts of pork, goose and duck, while opposite are the fish and seafood stalls with live stock. Freshwater fish like glass carp and katla rub shoulders with salt water produce such as groupers and snappers and a whole host of shellfish : clams, mussels and oysters and crustaceans: crabs, shrimp and prawns. There are fruit and vegetable stalls as well; look around before buying since they have different rates for the same fruit at different stalls. Also, they don’t take too kindly to bargaining. Tip : go fruit shopping later at night around 9-930pm, when they’re shutting, it’s less crowded and prices drop.
