Flat ground for tents were overall pretty good. However there are many rocks near the entrance and during the night you have to make sure you don't trip. Toilets are horrible and I didn't really see any shower facilities. Water was sketchy and there was feces in the sinks. The toilets was extremely smelly.

Large open flat area with lots of open space for overnight camping on the Wan Tsai peninsula (Sai Kung West Country Park extension). There is a large nearby toilet facility, ferry pier and mountain bike friendly trails in the area. You are pretty close to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park and village as well. Note: Due to Covid-19 pandemic, this campground like pretty much all others in Hong Kong may be closed and unavailable. Best to check the afcd.gov.hk website for status before making your way to this campgrounds.

Wan Tai West campsite is about a 10-15 minute walk up a slight gravel incline from its sister campsite, Wan Tsai South. It is a large field surrounded by trees with its own toilet and reasonable shower facilities (the water was nice and cold today - very handy in the heat!) Wan There are large bins for you to put your rubbish in at the entrance to the field. Please do so as it's very disappointing and indeed selfish to leave it behind for others to clean up your mess! There were about 5 other groups camping last night so there is plenty of space if you want some privacy. (Wan Tsai South was quite full, in comparison). Noise carries at night however; something our neighbours did not appreciate as they shouted continuously from 9pm till around 5am. Please keep the noise down so others can sleep! The sun rises from the hill behind the entrance and so it is probably a good idea to camp on the side of the field directly to your *right* as you enter the campsite. Otherwise in the morning you will be hit by the full force of the sun. I made the mistake of pitching my tent on the other side of the field, which was shady when I arrived in the late afternoon. Good trail for hiking available. Interesting scenery. Clean and well maintained campsite. Good for gatherings. Family friendly. Can organize combined group activities there.

Great open space for camping. Family friendly. Sometimes there will be wild cows that come around the tents b looking for food so be a bit careful
