William's Optical is an optician in Central, Central and Western, at Shops 138-139, Melborne Plaza, 33 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong Island. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.
It pays to compare prices before you buy and to check that the price shown includes everything. Octopus, credit cards, FPS and e-wallets work in most shops, though small ones may be cash only or set a minimum for cards; weekend and public-holiday afternoons are busiest, so weekday daytime is better for a relaxed browse. Eye tests can be done by a registered optometrist; ask whether the test is charged and how long lenses are guaranteed.
Google lists the opening hours as Mon–Sat 10:30–18:00, Sun closed. It is open 6 days a week. Many clinics and health services in Hong Kong close or shorten their hours on Sundays and public holidays. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2524 5944. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first.
It has a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 16 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

The kindest store owners, highly recommend! Helped me fix my glasses after they got crushed, and now they're good as new! Took 2 minutes and he refused any money. I then got an excellent pair of sunglasses for a great price as well.

Thank you so much for helping me adjust my glasses. I bought it online from Taobao, thought it should be ready-to-wear, but it turned out to require lots of adjustment to fit my face since it was made of metal. Having been rudely treated in two chain stores in Mongkok when seeking for help, I was so uncertain if there was somebody could help me in HK (and I even thought to go to Shenzhen to seek for help). By ramdonly looking through opticals on google map around central, I noticed this store with genuine good reviews. Walked into this store, briefly explained my requirement, and the optician put away his lunch (sorry to disturb his meal time) and started to adjust my glasses attentively, try-and-adjust back and forth. My glasses was way better after his adjustment. It's been several weeks after his help, and I still would like to express my thanks and gratefulness to him. Would like to recommend this optical based on service quality. It's on 1F (left hand after escalator) if you had difficulty to locate it.

Super helpful and kind guy (Vincent). Helped me out with some simple frame repairs when I walked in off the street. The chain shops didn't want to know about it, but Vincent took the time to help me and had the tools and knowledge to do an excellent job at short notice. Thanks so much and I will be back here when time to get a new pair! :-) (he also speaks excellent English)

Genuinely the nicest optometrist experience. It's a cute little shop tucked away in Melbourne Plaza, but don't be fooled by its small stature; they really know their stuff. Perfect prescriptions every time, and the owners are just lovely to be around. They're really flexible with whatever you need - they'll even replace the lenses in your old glasses rather than upsell you to a new pair if that's what you ask for. Highly recommend!

Amazing shop! You can tell this people have been in the business for ever: super accurate testing, the lady picked the perfect shape of glasses for me, perfect for my budget. And when I told them I'm desperate and need the glasses asap, they made a few calls and arranged for me to have my glasses in a couple of hours!! Can't thank you enough!
