About 香港動植物公園
香港動植物公園 is listed under parks, country parks & beaches in Central, Central and Western. The address is 香港島雅賓利道. Below you will find what people usually look up before a visit: the exact location, contact details, opening hours and the Google rating.
About 40% of Hong Kong's land is country park or special area, and hiking trails run through every district. Before a hike or a beach day check the Hong Kong Observatory forecast and warnings, bring enough water, sun protection and a charged phone, and stay on the trail; the country parks ask visitors to take their litter home. In summer, avoid hiking at midday, carry plenty of water and take extra care when the Very Hot Weather Warning is in force.
Google lists the opening hours as daily, 06:00–19:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has. More information is on its website, hkzbg.gov.hk.
Customers give it an average of 4.3 out of 5 on Google (576 reviews), a high score by any measure.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens are located a walking distance from Central. It’s a beautiful place to get away from the hussle and bussle of the Central Business District. The zoo features all types of animals and the gardens are beautifully preserved.

The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden is the oldest park in Hong Kong. The park was initially focused on collecting and studying local plants, but began housing birds and mammals, thus becoming Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden. The park is 5.6 hectares and is divided into East and West sections, connected via a pedestrian tunnel. The East section, aka "Old Park", features a children's playground, aviary, greenhouse, and fountain platform garden. Meanwhile, the West section, aka "New Park", primarily features mammals and reptiles. Since the park is only 5.6 hectares, there are not many animals. Nonetheless, you can see several birds and mammals, with few reptiles. It is worth coming for a quick visit, just make sure you check the weather. Do not come in blazing heat where you'll overheat like my family and I did.

Lovely gardens and some interesting zoo exhibits. Free entry. The (small selection of) animals were well cared for,.and we enjoyed seeing them. Not great if you want something to eat (just a tiny snack kiosk) but you're a stone's throw from Central and all the possibilities there.

The garden is nice. Is free to enter. Didn't make to the greenhouse with exotic plants, is open till 16:30. The garden was nice itself and is a big object soliter on two parts. Must cross the road to enter other one. Birds and different kinds of monkeys, fruits trees (don't pick up the fruits, do not eat) tones of flowers, and exotic native plants to HG. Recommend for having a walk there.

We were surprised that this zoo with all its variety of cute animals had complimentary admission. Our family spent a lot of time here. We loved seeing all the different animals here. The walking areas are easy to navigate and there are signs everywhere that are in English and Chinese writings. It is easily accessible via bus and a little walking. No restaurants or stores here. Can easily spend half a day here.
