this restaurant is famous for their beef and egg sandwich with spicy, so i decided to try it so i could share my unbiased opinion on it. here's what i think - if you are a foreigner, you may enjoy this as it's greasy, spicy, and packs a savoury punch. however, locals like me will compare it to the beef sandwiches we had at other cha chaan tengs and immediately know it is inferior. it doesn't hold a candle to men wah bing teng, which you can find all across hk. also, they are very ungenerous with the filling. as you look at the cross section of the sandwich, the amount of egg and beef is already meagre. however, the last few bites literally consist of bread only. whilst the bread is crispy and toasted, i would much rather have some filling to go alongside it. i'm not kidding when i say this, every beef/egg sandwich i've ever eaten has always had filling falling out since it's typically packed to the brim. i guess i can't expect much in this economy. overall, if you're a tourist that happens to be in that area, feel free to try it out. otherwise, you're better off going to other cha chaan tengs to get higher quality / price to satisfaction ratio.

The Verdict: A Nice Neighborhood Stopover While it’s not worth a cross-town trip, this spot offers a decent, comforting bite if you happen to be in the area. The Breakdown Flavour & Texture: The dish leans a bit heavy on the salt, but it pairs nicely with the crisp toast, which helps balance out the flavors. Unfortunately, the execution fell short on the eggs, which arrived overcooked. Overall Impression: There’s no need to go out of your way to eat here, but it is certainly worth a try if you are passing by. Rating: Worth a visit if convenient.

Japanese milk tea has a controlled taste. Hong Kong-style milk tea feels more natural. Wildness. I want to make it.

Table Notes 7 months ago

Hidden among the older streets of Central, this little corner shop feels like a piece of Hong Kong that time has gently forgotten. The place is known for its simple but beloved comfort dishes, especially the tomato noodles and thick toasted sandwiches. The tomato soup is bright and tangy, carrying that familiar sweet savoury balance that many locals grew up with. Paired with crisp toast or a generous sandwich, it becomes the sort of meal that feels both humble and deeply satisfying. The setting is small and unpretentious, with the quiet bustle of a neighbourhood café where regulars come and go throughout the day. It is the kind of place that reminds you how much character Hong Kong’s old eateries still hold. Simple food, honest flavours, and a touch of nostalgia in every bite.

instagram: splashwww youtube: @splashwww This spot delivers exactly what you want from authentic Hong Kong street-food vibes: fresh, well-executed dishes at very reasonable prices. The signature beef and egg sandwich is a standout the egg is perfectly fried, encasing juicy, tender beef with no greasiness at all. It’s clean, flavourful, and deeply satisfying. The Hong Kong-style French toast brings that signature crunch and golden exterior, though it would have been even better with the classic peanut butter filling (a small miss, but still very enjoyable). The dumpling noodles and pig knuckle noodles both punch well above average generous portions, fresh ingredients, and spot-on seasoning. Everything tastes freshly made and carefully cooked, with that home-cooked warmth.Considering the quality and portion sizes, the prices feel like excellent value one of the best bangs for your buck in the area. A reliable, delicious choice for classic Hong Kong comfort eats. The food is fresh, tasty, and fairly priced highly recommended if you’re craving something hearty and authentic.
