Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

A long‑standing cha chaan teng now looking brighter after renovation. The signature cheeseburger with sunny‑side egg is straight to the point. A thick minced‑beef patty, juicy and well‑seared. No heavy sauces, just clean beef flavor. The curry katsu pork “omurice” steals the show. Two large cutlets, crisp coating with tender meat inside. Fried‑rice base under a soft, semi‑set omelette; sweet‑leaning curry on the side. We also had the baked Boston lobster seafood rice. Half a lobster on top. Generous seafood over egg fried rice. Fresh ingredients, big portions, fair prices. A reliable neighborhood stop when you want classic Hong Kong comfort done right.

This iconic Cha Chaan Teng is a perfect rainy-day refuge. My go-to order is their superb afternoon tea set: a classic 生炸雞脾 (deep-fried raw chicken thigh) for just $45. This Hong Kong staple is masterfully prepared; the whole thigh is fried from raw, resulting in an ultra-crispy, shatteringly golden skin that gives way to incredibly juicy and tender meat inside. It’s a textbook example of this beloved local dish, served with a sweet, nostalgic red bean ice drink. An unbeatable deal for such quality. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their extensive menu.

🗻 雪山冰廳 (Cheung Sha wan) Wanted 酸菜魚 pickled fish for dinner at an affordable price so we came here! 🐖Their recommended dish is the pork chop fried rice and it didn’t disappoint! The pork chop was fried perfectly. Not too oily and still tender after frying! The rice is stir-fried with eggs and is fried evenly. 🐟The sour pickled fish dish is my favourite! The boneless fish was tender, besides the fermented vege, they also added celtuce, lotus root, bean sprouts, sweet potato vermicelli, black fungus. $98 with this portion and flavour is not easy to find. 🍜There was a big portion for Both the chicken and the vermicelli. The laksa soup was thick and flavourful. The thickness of the soup makes sure every slurp of vermicelli comes with an abundant amount of laksa. The environment is clean and there was a tv right in front of us which made it easy for us to watch Olympics 🤭
