About 新香園

Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

Go for the beef and egg sandwich; plenty of beef, the egg is well-fried (can be a little rough and dry if you’re used to pillowy hk style scrambled eggs), flavourful, and smells like they used good quality peanut oil. Try out their chili oil! Uniquely aromatic and gives any dish a moreish kick. Satay beef noodle was not bad, but not a must try. Milk tea is smells richly of tea, light mouthfeel, not astringent, but average flavour.

Visited Sun Hang Yuen for the second time and loved it again! The place has such an authentic local vibe, and I really enjoy the simple, classic dishes they serve. You usually share a round table with other guests, which adds to the Hong Kong café experience. The food came out super fast, and the staff kindly explained the differences between some of the dishes – I really felt well taken care of. Prices are great, too. It was the first cha chaan teng I visited on my trip to Hong Kong, and it really left a great impression!

My friend brought me to this Hong Kong style cafe in this morning to try their famous signature sandwiches. Their sandwich with beef and egg is a must try. The chef is generous in giving beef. The bread is freshly toasted and not stale. Appreciate. Both of their hot and iced Hong Kong style milk tea are silky. The iced one is not too sweet. The taste of tea in both cases is just fit. The owner and the attendants are friendly and diligent. A nice experience to start a weekend morning.

Seems like a much better choice than the older shop. Cleaner, much more spacious tables and areas in between tables. Even better tasting food or at least the beef egg sandwich tasted better and more juicy than those in the older shop. Utensils are new. Don't have any reason to go back to the older shop other than being the original with the nostalgia. Menu items may be somewhat different too though I didn't look for the differences specifically.
