Hong Kong has plenty of street snacks and budget eateries, with prices shown on the menu or price board and usually no service charge. Lunchtime and the evening rush are busiest, so take away or avoid the peak if you are in a hurry; some small shops close when they sell out or shut early in the evening, so check the hours before making a special trip. At cart-noodle shops you pick the noodles and toppings and pay by the number of toppings; congee shops often open early for breakfast.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–22:30. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. You can call 2748 1001; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. Its website is facebook.com, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.

At 4.2 out of 5 on Google (772 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Mong Kok is one of Hong Kong's busiest shopping districts: Tung Choi Street (the Ladies' Market) and Fa Yuen Street (Sneakers Street) are lined with small shops, and the buildings along Nathan Road hold countless upstairs shops.

The soup can be slight hotter. The broth I had ordered was shrimp, but just a hint of it only. It makes more tasty than usual.

It's a cozy place with no real English menu for foreigners but still easily translated through Google. Had the pork ramen (which looked like a tonkotsu from the menu photo. But it was much darker, tasted almost mushroomy when it arrived. If you've had japanese pork ramen, this is no where close. It was ok and hit the spot.

I just happened to pass by the restaurant while looking for another place that had already closed. Seeing that it was fully packed, I expected the food to be good — but it turned out to be absolutely amazing. The broth and everything about it felt truly authentic ramen and simply wonderful. One bowl was more than enough to leave me completely full. If I ever visit Hong Kong again, I’ll definitely come back to try it once more. Don’t hesitate to stop by — it’s extremely, extremely delicious, and the service is fast too.

The tsukumen was very good. Great noodles, perfectly cooked and their pork belly was tasty. I’ve got it with extra egg. The eggs were just ok. The special ramen with chicken broth and soy was ok. Not particularly layered, but comfy food. The meats were nice, the pork was peppery. The noodles were well cooked. I enjoyed both sides of chicken kerage and gyoza.

🇭🇰 Mong Kok 旺角|一生懸麵 This restaurant always has a line waiting outside whenever it is dinner time! With so many people dining here, I have to know what they have to offer! 🫣 Therefore, I went and tried: •𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚-𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧 The broth is simply amazing! 🤩 The noodles carry the soup so much that it tastes wonderful every bite! The pork is also roasted so it has a heavier flavour! 😋 •𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧 The soy sauce flavour is on the heavy side with the pork 🐖 being a perfect add-on for the ramen! •𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐠𝐞 It is much crispier than those we usually tried and they taste great with the sauce! 🤤 •𝐖𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐚 & 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐚 The drinks are very unique in terms of flavour! The fruity flavour is outstanding for both and definitely refreshing for a savory meal! 🍊 📍G/F, 73 Tung Choi Street, Mong Kok 💲Price per person: $117
