Tsim Sha Tsui is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. The Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront has the Avenue of Stars and the Cultural Centre, Star Ferries cross to Central and Wan Chai, and the area is full of hotels, malls and restaurants.

It’s in a mall. A massive, climate-controlled, ultra-luxury mega-mall in Kowloon where the floors are polished to a mirror sheen and the air smells like expensive perfume. Usually, this is a red flag. A sign that the culinary soul of a city has been sanitized for corporate comfort. But Hong Kong malls are different, and Tasty is proof. Underneath the fancy lighting, they are executing the classics with serious, old-school precision. The wonton wrappers are paper-thin, stretching around plump, snappy shrimp like silk. The broth has that deep, unmistakable hit of dried flounder and white pepper. And the gon chau ngau ho (stir-fried beef rice noodles)? It’s got that elusive, smoky wok hei—the breath of a blazing hot wok—that separates the masters from the amateurs. Is it double the price of a cramped, sweaty corner shop in Sham Shui Po? Absolutely. Do you lose a bit of the grit and theater of the street? Yeah, you do. But when the congee is this silky and the noodles have that perfect, springy bite, you swallow your pride and pay the mall tax. Four stars.

We just found this during our pit stop on the way to the museum. Food we ordered were so good! Serving size were enough for us. Maybe it was because we were seated at a booth at the far back, but it was sometimes hard to call for a server. Good thing their service was fast.

We live nearby the restaurant in elements so we came to visit many times, while the food was good and price was decent, though the cashier was quite tacky and lacked manners, didn’t utter a word when we checked out, was unpleasaing, no thank yous. It’s worth mentioning she was the cashier every time we went. Credit where credit was due, food quality was up to standard and the rest were okay

My spend is probably higher than average but that’s probably due to the abalone and prawn congee. The prawn was massive. Siu kau, noodles, and prawns were all excellent. My local friends said this was the best place but it costs more than double a local place that’s almost as good.

Didn’t plan to have lunch here. But due to a chance in my schedule I had to grab a quick bite near Kowloon station. The wonton noodle was spot on. Thee might be other better ones elsewhere, no doubt. But this one does it for me. I also ordered the braised beef brisket. Damn it was so tender and tasty! Sooo good. The service was meh since I didn’t speak Cantonese. But my servers were prompt and efficient. Really nothing to complain about. The only thing though this restaurant is situated in a really nice shopping mall. So it’s on the pricier side. I spent $US for a lunch that included a tea, a wonton noodle and a beef brisket.
