For package tours and outbound travel deals, use a travel agent licensed by the Travel Industry Authority and keep your receipts; outbound tour travellers are generally covered by the Travel Industry Compensation Fund. Read the itinerary, what the price includes and the cancellation and refund terms before you go, and consider travel insurance. Ferry and cruise schedules change with the weather, and return sailings are crowded on holidays, so buy tickets early or leave extra time.

Bear in mind that many small shops close over Lunar New Year and may not open while a typhoon or black rainstorm warning is in force. Phone: 2131 8181. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. Its website is nwff.com.hk, which may show prices, details of what it offers or online booking.
At 3.8 out of 5 on Google (244 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.
Central is part of the Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Central is Hong Kong's financial and business heart; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links the streets up the hill, Lan Kwai Fong and SoHo come alive at night, and the Central piers serve the Outlying Islands.

Easy to catch ferry to Cheung Chau from here. Was a bit confusing at first to me. Look up for the signs - when is the next fast ferry vs slow ferry, and cost for each.

Travel on weekday not crowded. Very relaxing trip to Cheung Chau. Payment by cash at the counter or Octopus card. Recommended.

New World First Ferry (or just First Ferry) is a service provider in Hong Kong providing sea bound transportation around Hong Kong including routes to/from outlying islands and popular places such as Cheng Chau, Peng Chau and Mui Wo. Ferry service is similar to the Star Ferry and can be boarded by way of ferry piers. Entry can be purchased by way of cash payment or with an Octopus Card. Route service schedules are available at the piers or on their website directly. Recently used First Ferry for a journey between Central Pier 5 and Cheung Chau and found my ferry trips to be just fine. Inside seating areas are standard and of little interest. Sailings went smoothly and were on time. Little more to comment other than finding First Ferry service on this route to be just fine and as expected.

Today I took the ferry to Cheung Chau. You can buy a seat on the regular ferry for $13. What they don't tell you is that this doesn't give access to the outside decks. For that you need a 'deluxe ticket' for $22. Unfortunately you can't buy that on board. So I went back to the ticket booth, having already paid for a regular ticket, and asked to pay the difference between the deluxe ticket and the regular ticket (which I had already paid for). Unluckily, the single unhappiest woman in the work would only bark out 'You must buy new ticket! No upgrade!' So after arguing about how silly it was to punish a tourist by essentially making them buy a new ticket just so they could sit outside, I just paid for a brand new ticket. Yes, I'm only out $13 HKD, but still, what a horrible woman. Tread carefully I guess.
