Arrived and the front of house was watching videos on their phone and never acknowledged me until I walked through and spoke to someone in the kitchen. Ordered Mapo tofu + rice, which was heralded with a microwave ping before arriving and was bland. Certainly better ways to spend $90 (also note that it came to $82 based on menu prices, so not sure where the extra $8 came from, but not worth the time to argue over).

If you want authentic Sichuan food, this is the one I highly recommend in Wanchai n Causeway Bay Area! Definitely the best! It’s real tasty especially the spicy sour fish soup, love it a lot! The lunch set is great value and good portion !

𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨! Trying out Chuan Town, a newly opened, modern Sichuan restaurant near Causeway Bay! Everything was insanely flavourful and it’s a great spot for larger groups to indulge in spicy delicacies! 🌶️ Pic 1️⃣&2️⃣: 紅袍辣子雞 / 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐫-𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢 - $138 hkd 🌶️ 🐓 — This was AMAZING! And just look at how massive this plate was! This dish was so addicting I honestly couldn’t stop eating it 😂 The chicken cubes were the perfect bite size and coated in the most delicious, peppery batter. The mix of spices and chilis in this made the dish so aromatic and flavourful and prepared at the perfect spice level. Every bite you take leaves you wanting more for sure. The grilled fish was really fragrant and well seasoned. It is lightly deep fried to lock in all the flavours and juices as well as give it a nice golden colour to it. The fish is then topped with heaps of their homemade pickled cabbages, garlic, and chilis so you are guaranteed an abundance of flavour in every bite

This newly opened Sichuan restaurant in Causeway Bay specializes in dishes like Sour and Spicy Fish, Spicy Boiled Fish, and other Sichuan cuisine. Since I have a love for spicy food, I decided to try their dinner set menu. Sour and Spicy Fish in Golden Soup ($218): - The fish is served with its skin, giving it a fresh taste. - It includes a generous amount of bean sprouts and pickled cabbage. - The dish features wide rice noodles that are chewy. - It also contains bamboo shoots. - The dish has a perfect balance of numbing and spicy flavors with a hint of sourness, making it suitable for a wide range of people. “Red Robe” Spicy Chicken ($138): - The chicken pieces are of medium size. - They are crispy without being burnt. - The dish has a spicy and numbing flavor. - It is accompanied by some peanuts as a side dish. Mapo Tofu ($72): - The dish is filled with tofu. - It is topped with minced meat. - It has a salty and spicy taste, making it a great accompaniment to rice.
