Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays. Wan Chai mixes the office towers around the Convention and Exhibition Centre with old markets and tenement buildings, and nearby restaurants get busy during big trade fairs.

We ordered Octopus, Pork, Steak, Burrata Cheese Salad, Carbonara. Every dish tasted great although Dish decoration was somehow not that pleasant at first sight. Corkage fee 150 per bottle. Had a good time with my friends.

Flagship on Ship Street offers East-meets-West cuisine, mixing Western classics with Chinese ingredients in particular. Pan-seared Octopus Freshly seared octopus tentacles with smoky salmon roe and crunchy kale tossed in a sweet and appetizing Patchun sweet vinegar. Slightly tender and meaty octopus. 31 Days Dry Aged Pork A thick piece of lean pork tomahawk. Great for sharing. Served with grilled whole garlic and veggies. Carbonara Chinese Style Traditional carbonara with no cream that solely relied on egg yolk and cheese to make it so luscious, with fragrant Chinese cured pork and briny Jinhua ham replacing guanciale.

This place serves up fusion food, what we ordered were very tasty. Wine prices were reasonable. The restaurant was packed after 7pm, but last order was around 9:15pm, which was fairly early for a hip neighborhood. Service fluctuates. The man behind the bar/manager I gathered was knowledgeable, efficient & polite. The other staff seemed somewhat clueless. The place has great food, good vibes.

The idea of fusion is special here and we wanna try out Flagship for a while. We ordered pan seared octopus and clams as appetiser. 21 days aged pork and steak for main course. The clams is recommended on the menu, we can definitely feel the numbing from the pepper while it’s not spicy. However the clams quality is average not very fresh. Octupus is usual and the dressing on the kale salad underneath is too sweet to my taste. My pork is very tender and seasoned on point. Some part is quite pink especially the area that link to the bone. After I checked with the server he reassured it’s safe to eat. It would be nicer if I was asked how I want it to be cooked in advance. For people who don’t eat rare cooked pork i am sure you can request for a well done meat. My partner loves the steak it’s perfectly cooked as per he requested. The service is local here after we placed the order the server reconfirmed if we have ordered ‘四個餸’ leave me and my partner speechless. We went on a Friday night and the restaurant is quite full. Recommend booking in advance. Overall we had an enjoyable meal here. It’s a cozy small place and worth to pay a visit.

Tucked away on Ship Street in Wan Chai, Flagship is a quiet gem that invites you to slow down and savour. The pan-seared octopus is crisp outside, tender inside, with a sweet-sour balsamic honey glaze and bursts of salmon roe. The confit duck leg, nestled in flaky layered waffles, shines with crispy skin, juicy meat, and vibrant sides—carrot, zucchini, eggplant—plus a runny egg and roasted garlic. The perfect bite? Duck, yolk, garlic, hibiscus sauce, waffle. The hairy crab risotto is rich and creamy, every spoonful steeped in crab roe. Thoughtful, flavourful, and deeply satisfying.
