I-O-N Kwun Tong, a café in Kwun Tong, is at 2/F, Nina Hotel Kowloon East, 38 Chong Yip St, Kwun Tong, Kowloon. Before heading over it is worth checking the hours, phone number and Google rating below, so the trip is not wasted. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. If you plan to work or study in a café, check for power sockets and any seating time limit.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:00–22:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 3968 8222. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. More information is on its website, ninahotelgroup.com.

Kwun Tong is part of the Kwun Tong District in Kowloon. Kowloon is densely packed: Nathan Road runs north from Tsim Sha Tsui towards Prince Edward, lined along with its side streets by shops, restaurants and upstairs businesses, and most places are a few minutes' walk from an MTR station. Mong Kok's street markets, Sham Shui Po's electronics and fabric streets and Kowloon City's Thai restaurants are familiar landmarks for shopping and eating. Many Kwun Tong industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios; note the building name and floor, as access can differ in the evening and at weekends.

It was the first time we came to this hotel for dinner. As the cafe officers only semi buffet, the varieties of food on the tables were about 60-70% of a full buffet. Nevertheless, the quality of food in general was good. One of the few things I'd expect better is the choice of beverage. They practically had only coffee and tea (hot and cold) and nothing else. Yes, you can order wine, beer, or soda, you can find them on a separate menu, as pictured. Overall, for less than $300 per head (after promotional discount), I think I'll come again.

"This was a great night celebrating my husband’s birthday – and the birthday boy ate for free! I really enjoyed the appetizer bar. The food was fresh, and while there wasn’t a huge variety, everything was good quality – and that’s what matters most. We had a wonderful evening. Our server, Kenny, was friendly and helpful. To top it off, they surprised us with a little cake at the end of the meal. What a lovely, unexpected touch! Very pleased with the food and service. Highly recommend."

This is a good place to relax , the environment is very nice. The service is very attentive, they helped us keep the food warm because my child hadn't arrived yet. Special thanks to Kenny and Janet.

Booked here for our wedding anniversary as we enjoyed a good seafood buffet. It was not bad and plenty available. Mains we were limited to the 2 persons sharing choice but would have liked the suckling pig. We went for halibut and pork finally and both were good and tasty. Decent wine and beer options with friendly service throughout so we enjoyed..

I-O-N is well decorated and has a comfortable ambiance. Recently noticed a "buy 2 get 2 free" offer for the Semi Buffet on Nina Hotel website. Such a great deal! For our group of four, we combined our main courses to choose the Tomahawk steak. The Tomahawk steak was torched right at our table, IG-able!! As a semi-buffet, quite a variety of food available. I love the shrimp, had a genuine seafood flavor. Everything was fresh and constantly replenished. Special thanks to Perry for his excellent service , he is very friendly and attentive.
