About 佳佳甜品 (銅鑼灣)

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Dessert shops are liveliest in the evening and some stay open late; ask for insulated packing for frozen takeaways.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 12:30–00:15. It opens every day of the week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. Phone: 2350 0058. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first.

At 3.9 out of 5 on Google (91 reviews), it sits mid-table; the written reviews say more about service, prices and waiting times than the number does.

Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

We stopped by Kaikai Dessert after dinner and it turned out to be a really nice find. I personally enjoyed how traditional and straightforward everything tasted. The flavours were not overly sweet, and each dessert had its own character without feeling too heavy. The black sesame was rich and fragrant, the red bean soup was smooth and comforting, and the tong yuen had just the right chewy texture. I also really liked the sweet egg with water chestnut, which was something a little different from what I normally order. For me, this is what a good traditional dessert shop should be. Nothing needs to be fancy when the ingredients are good and the flavours are done properly. I left feeling quite satisfied and would definitely come back to try some of the other desserts next time I am in Causeway Bay.

Came here to try their dessert since I've heard so many good reviews. Black Sesame Soup (6/10) texture is smooth, non starchy but lack of sesame flavour. First time having this served chill not too bad. Customer service (5/10) the lady waitress can converse in English but would be better if she's a lil friendlier! Environment 8/10 clean & cooling

Absolutely loved the dessert here. It’s about HKD40 for a small bowl, so not cheap but it’s the most delicious thing I tasted in Hk. The sesame and almond mix with sesame rice balls is the one to get! Trust me! Also tried the walnut, wasn’t as good. Order via QR code at the table and pay at the counter.

Waitress very very rude and black face attitude during serving customers … like throwing bowls .. can even said rude remarks when we left and finished our desserts.. a big disappoinment for us walking streets to enjoy good desserts..

The desserts here are on a different level. The tang yuen (sesame and peanut balls) were oozing goodness upon first bite and the ginger base had very strong kick to it, showcasing their attention to quality ingredients. The sesame with almond was so smooth and the ratio was in perfect sync with each other that made it a melodious symphony of sweet treats to warm the stomach, very suited as post dinner go to spot. Their new location is conveniently located and will patronize again to try more of their tasty desserts
