About Via Tokyo

Via Tokyo Cafe is a Japanese dessert cafe in Hong Kong known for premium Uji matcha and houjicha desserts, soft serve, parfaits, puddings, cakes, and drinks. We are the first Matcha Specialty Dessert shop, established in 2013, and we’ve been serving Japanese tea-based sweets with a focus on quality ingredients, balanced flavours, and a modern Japanese cafe experience.

Via Tokyo is a dessert shop in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, at 香港島銅鑼灣禮頓道106-126號禮信大廈地下1A-1B號舖. Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it.

When choosing a café or dessert shop, look at whether prices are shown, whether plant milks or less-sweet options are available, and whether there is a time limit on seats. Many open seven days a week, but some small shops take a weekly day off; for cakes or large orders of pastries, calling ahead is the safest bet. Dessert shops are liveliest in the evening and some stay open late; ask for insulated packing for frozen takeaways.

Google lists the opening hours as daily, 13:00–22:00. It is open seven days a week. Arrangements may differ on public holidays, over Lunar New Year and when a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is in force, so call before making a special trip. No phone number is listed, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best starting point for directions and any contact details Google has. More information is on its website, facebook.com.

Customers give it an average of 4.3 out of 5 on Google (955 reviews), a high score by any measure.

Causeway Bay is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The island is steep, with many streets climbing the hillside; the Central–Mid-Levels escalator links Central with the Mid-Levels and the Peak Tram runs up to The Peak. Offices, malls and old neighbourhood shops sit side by side, restaurants are packed at the office lunch hour (roughly 13:00–14:00), and with parking scarce the MTR, tram or bus is usually easier than driving. Causeway Bay is packed with malls and department stores and is very crowded at weekends; nearby Victoria Park hosts the Lunar New Year fair.

Omg lwk this might be my new fave matcha, the matcha was so smooth and so good and the cakes too were so flavorful. The one thing that lost a point was the price of the matcha, like why is it like almost 70 hkd, like its a cup of matcha but ok ig

The sweetness from strawberry is just nice. Matcha has a hint of bitterness, I opt for no sugar. Nice place to chill in HK

Visited Via Tokyo during our trip to Hongkong. They have won several awards for matcha and is probably the best cafe for matcha in HK. We tried the following- 1. Pudding series- Icecream topped with matcha noodles and matcha sauce. This was unique and presentation was too good. 2. Matcha latte - This felt act good and wasnt bitter. 3. Matcha and strawberry- This was my favourite as it was sweet and had flavour of matcha too so was perfect for me. The place was full when we visited. And if you are in hongkong then you must visit this place if you are a matcha lover.

One of us wanted matcha dessert for the night and we ended up at Via Tokyo since they close at 10pm, perfect dessert spot if you want to go for Japanese. The place was packed at 930pm when we were there so it is quite a popular spot. Love the Mont Blanc dessert, the chestnut cream was one of the finest I have ever tried, since it usually is thicker and not as smooth. This one feel lighter on both the flavor and the matcha soft serve paired with it very well, to our surprise, there was actually some sponge cake, crisp and strawberry n mochi at the bottom too, great ending to a lovely matcha dessert. They have built your own Mont Blanc too, do try that out, you add an ice cream on a pudding with gorgeous strands of Mont Blanc and syrup of your choice. Around 6 mins walk from the causeway bay MTR so off the hustle and bustle.
