About 古今二 Kokon

Locals and visitors alike tend to check the same things before going, so this page brings together the practical details: where it is, how to get in touch, when it is open and how customers rate it. This is an upstairs shop: the way in is usually through the building lobby rather than from the street, so check the building name, floor and unit before you go and allow a few minutes for the lift.

When choosing a restaurant, check whether the menu shows prices and the service charge, whether you need to book, and whether there are vegetarian or children's options. Restaurants must hold a licence from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, usually displayed inside. Lunar New Year, Mother's Day, Christmas and New Year's Eve are peak booking times, and some restaurants offer set menus or add a surcharge on festive days, so ask ahead. Popular Japanese and Korean restaurants often take online bookings or queue tickets, and omakase counters usually ask for a deposit.

Opening hours: daily, 00:00–23:00. It is open seven days a week. You can call 3188 0038; a phone call is the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or how to get there. More information is on its website, m.facebook.com.

It has a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 155 reviews, a strong score that points to consistently positive experiences.

Mong Kok is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere.

was attracted by the large variety of sushi rolls but did not feel like the final amount we paid was justified. the rolls were expensive for the size and ingredients, so we opted to try their sushi and sashimi instead. took them 45 minutes to serve our raw fish when the cooked food arrived in 10mins. sushi bar does not have enough chefs to handle the orders and we were there on a Monday night, not a busy one. sushi rice was hardened and lacked the vinegar flavor. we felt the rice was probably pre cooked and warmed/heated up to meet the dinner rush demand. the fish on the sushi was so so but the sashimi was fresh. fried food was too oily and heavy. will not be visiting again.

The food overall was really nice! The tuna sushi was great, and the softshell crab tempura was super juicy and delicious. The udon noodles were just a bit too sweet for our taste. We sat at the bar counter and the staff was friendly, but the food took quite a while. Dishes came out 1 or 2 at a time with long breaks, and we waited about 45 minutes for our last sushi roll.

The food there is excellent and reasonably priced. Some staff were a bit rude but I understand that because of the amount of customers in the restaurant. The decorations were somehow lacking Japanese elements, feels more like an American steak restaurant. Overall it was great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant!

It's now open in the popular Mongkok district! Their dishes are well-known for their high CP value—tasty and reasonably priced. Fried chicken and Japanese sushi rolls are my all-time favorites.
