Tsim Sha Tsui is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. The Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront has the Avenue of Stars and the Cultural Centre, Star Ferries cross to Central and Wan Chai, and the area is full of hotels, malls and restaurants.

I came across this shop because many people recommended this bakery as the best for muslim. Bought three kinds of egg tart: sourdough, biscoff, and corned beef egg. I ate the original one immediately after purchasing, and found that it’s cold. I was disappointed as I believe that eggtart should be eaten hot. Nevertheless, I kept the biscoff one until the next day, and it’s still good. I can say that Biscoff is my most favorite among all.

A wonderful halal bakery in Hong Kong! The selection of breads and pastries is impressive, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. The coffee was surprisingly good too, making it a perfect spot for breakfast or an afternoon break. The highlight for me was the Pistachio Egg Tart — absolutely to die for! Rich, flaky, and packed with pistachio flavour. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for quality halal baked treats in Hong Kong.

I had a fantastic experience here. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The pastries were excellent across the board, but the standout for me was the corned beef tart. It was perfectly balanced, with a rich, savory filling and a beautifully crisp, flaky crust. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the overall experience. I will definitely be coming back.

Puff Bake is a bakery-café that’s great for a quick bite. The space has a few high-top tables and a long bench facing the street, so you can do some people-watching while you eat. The layout feels spacious and seems to be divided into bakery and café two areas. You can even peek through the glass windows to see their baking process happening behind the scenes. It’s also suitable for either takeaway or a short stay as most people appear to stand for a while to enjoy their food and drinks. I ordered two items: Corned beef egg tart ($18), which they describe as their must-try signature and a sourdough egg tart ($16). When I placed my order, the staff warmed my tarts in oven right after taking it, before serving them to me, so they arrived warm and ready to eat right away. Though from my preference, I would’ve liked them to be even hotter. In terms of taste, I actually liked the sourdough egg tart more than the signature.

Marouf Coffee & Puff Bake was recommended by my friend, so of course we had to check it out. The moment we stepped in, I was impressed by the wide variety of bakery items available. There were so many variations to choose from, especially their egg tarts and croissants. Everything looked so tempting! We ordered quite a spread: Sourdough Egg Tart, Pistachio Egg Tart, Corned Beef Egg Tart, Egg Mayo Croissant, Plain Croissant, Crème Brûlée Latte and Cappuccino. Honestly, most of the items were really good. My absolute favourite was the Sourdough Egg Tart — the crust was crispy with a slight tangy flavour, and the filling was smooth and fragrant. It’s honestly the best sourdough egg tart I have tasted in Hong Kong. The Pistachio Egg Tart was also nice and unique. The only one that didn’t really suit my taste was the Corned Beef Egg Tart. We visited on a Saturday around 11am, and the crowd was still manageable. You can dine in, but there are only a few standing tables, perfect for a quick bite. Overall, Marouf Coffee is highly recommended!
