Many Hong Kong restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill, and tipping beyond that is optional. Popular places fill up at lunchtime and on weekend evenings, so book by phone, WhatsApp or a platform such as OpenRice; some set a time limit or a minimum spend. Most offer both dine-in and takeaway, and Octopus, credit cards, FPS and PayMe are widely accepted, though smaller places may take cash only. For birthdays or office dinners, ask about private rooms, corkage and cake-cutting fees in advance.

Opening hours: daily, 11:00–21:00. It opens every day of the week. Many small businesses close for a few days around Lunar New Year and may shut early or not open during typhoons and black rainstorms, so check the latest news before you set off. Phone: 5589 0967. Hong Kong numbers have eight digits; from abroad, dial +852 first. As this is a mobile number, a WhatsApp message may also work. More information is on its website, instagram.com.

Sham Shui Po is part of the Sham Shui Po District in Kowloon. Around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay many industrial buildings now house offices, restaurants, gyms and studios, while Kai Tak is a newer district. Kowloon's streets are busiest in the evening and at weekends, shops keep long hours with many open until about 22:00, and the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Ma lines plus buses and minibuses reach almost everywhere. Sham Shui Po is known for the electronics and second-hand stalls of Apliu Street and the fabric and button shops around Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street, where many older shops still prefer cash.

the google review section here is weird - it's a cafe correctly classified but turned out a hotel rating template. anyway. i saw the tiramisu on the social media that looked really tempting thus visited this place. large place but still required a bit waiting at the door. we were seated next to the toilet at the back so it wasn't pleasant - the scent of toilet fragrance and detergent was very dominant. the coffee and tiramisu was good, like the comments from most of the people that it's soft and smooth and a little like melting, that had a creamy texture. the taste is well balanced too. however, service should be improved too. delay food and service, a serious down on manpower seemed to be the cause. staff was far too busy and couldn't take care of all activities.

Lunched here on a Sunday. Called beforehand to check if there are seats; staff said yes only walk in and no bookings. When I arrived, the staff asked me any bookings? 🤔 The air con was freezing 🥶 Ordered a bailey coffee latte (good 👍🏻); a greedy platter (good 👍🏻); a rice (so so) and the pesto scallops pasta (so so). I think the staff were rude; I haven’t really finished my latte but she assumed that we finished and poured someone else’s glass of water into my latte and cleared up our table? Wouldn’t go back. A bit pricey too. Don’t think it worth their value.

Found this lovely cafe named Minimal in Sham Shui Po. The food quality is impressive, likely because their pastry chef is formerly from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. We ordered the Seared Engawa and Salmon Roe Risotto, and it was delicious. The rich oil from the fish completely coated the rice beautifully. The French Toast with Calamansi Sorbet was another highlight, offering a perfect balance of warm, sweet, and tangy flavors. The handmade desserts here are made-to-order, which guarantees their freshness. Service was friendly and efficient. A huge plus is that they do not charge a 10% service tax. Highly recommended for a casual meal.

Food was decent but for the price they are charging, service was also “minimal” I ordered salad, main and a dessert and asked for cut the dessert to be served after the main. The young male waiter bored and said ok Then served us the dessert while we were having our salad before the main! I told him I asked for the dessert to be served after the main, he just gave me “black face” 🌚 When we were ready for dessert and asked the same guy to get the dessert ready, he basically just ignored us and then we waited… waited.. and waited.. We then asked another young lady to get our dessert ready, we got our dessert within 5min! That guy was horrible and always throwing knife fork very loudly at the service table! Honestly he should work in some fast food cafe rather than there!
