About Nadagogo

This new dining hotspot in Wanchai's vibrant culinary district pays homage to Japan's revered gourmet and sake heritage. Inspired by the Nadagogo region - home to 26 thriving sake breweries along the Kobe-Osaka coast, a Japan Heritage site, it offers a genuine, welcoming Japanese dining experience, complemented by handpicked sake brewed with prized yeast.

Wan Chai is part of the Wan Chai District on Hong Kong Island. The north shore of Hong Kong Island is one of the densest business areas in the city: the MTR Island Line runs from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan, the trams ("ding dings") between Kennedy Town and Shau Kei Wan, and many businesses trade from upper floors of office blocks and older tenement buildings. The south side is known for beaches, trails and fishing harbours such as Repulse Bay, Stanley and the Aberdeen typhoon shelter, which get busy at weekends and on public holidays.

Found an absolute gem tucked away in Wan Chai. The $588 Japanese Brunch Set for two offers unbeatable value. The Food: Beautifully executed dishes. Expertly curated Maki rolls topped with tuna and salmon roe. The 5-piece seasonal sashimi add-on is a must—the fresh, rich uni alone makes it worth it.The Service: Highly attentive and thoughtful. They provide under-seat handbag baskets and constantly refresh your plates. Zero rush, making it perfect for long catch-ups.The Verdict: Highly recommended. Their impressive Wagyu selection makes this my top pick for my husband’s upcoming birthday lunch.

Nice environment and friendly staffs. It’s such a good brunch deal at $588 for 2 that comes with wide range of food choices. Instead of free flow, had chose a bottle of sake that we all enjoy.

The restaurant offers a comprehensive Japanese dining experience at HK$588 for two persons, which we found to be fairly priced for what's included. From appetizers and salads to sushi rolls, skewers, tempura, robatayaki, fried items, and main courses. What we appreciated was the flexibility to choose from multiple options within each category chicken meatball skewer with egg yolk dip was particularly memorable - the texture with soft cartilage bits and rich egg yolk created a wonderful combination Tosa-style fried tofu surprised us with its crispy exterior and silky interior The tempura assortment was freshly fried with a light, non-greasy batter

This cozy Japanese restaurant nailed weekend brunch with a generous izakaya-style spread: standout apps like eel omelette and spicy cod intestines, silky minced chicken with egg yolk, crispy wings, juicy fried oysters and pork cutlet, plus aromatic grilled fish and squid. Finished light with ochazuke and udon, paired with top-notch sake—highly recommended!

Nadagogo is a rather popular izakaya in Wanchai, Hong Kong, probably because of the outdoor seatings available. Online reservation is straightforward. The dimly lit restaurant has a very high ceiling. Servers are friendly and patient. Food is not cheap and quality is a bit inconsistent. The yakitori skewers taste much better than the seafood dishes. While the Sashimi 5 Types Platter ($488/platter) and Jet-Fresh Japanese Oyster (HK$138/pc) both taste fishy, the Grilled Buri Kama (HK$188) is rough in texture, the Chicken Neck (HK$42/skewer) is still raw! Highly recommend the bouncy Chicken Tail (HK$57/skewer), the super soft Chicken Liver (HK$38/skewer), and the crunchy Minced Chicken Stick (HK$58/skewer). For a HK$1,200/person dinner, there are definitely many better options in town.
