This place was opposite our hotel so seemed like an easy win for breakfast. Turned up at 7:30am and it was already full. They were only offering breakfast so can’t comment on their main dishes. I ordered a set menu breakfast, which comprised egg, frankfurter, fried fish and fried chicken, plus milk tea. And a pineapple bun! I was a bit overawed by the app ordering system which didn’t want to translate into English to had to ask the waitress for help, and although she didn’t speak English and I don’t speak Cantonese, I managed to get by with my broken mandarin and some finger pointing at the menu. Food was ok, but since it’s my first experience of a hong kong diner style cafe, it was all a bit too greasy for me. The pineapple bun was a delight! If I go again, I’ll probably have something simple like boiled eggs, toast and tea, which I didn’t see on the menu but I saw someone else was having, so I guess you have to ask for it.

After finishing a hot pot dinner in Shenzhen, we crossed back to Hong Kong and looked for a simple late-night meal near our hotel. We ended up at Tai Hing and ordered two rice dishes: * Roast Goose Rice – Personally, I really enjoyed this dish. The skin was crispy while the meat stayed juicy and not dry. My only small complaint was that there could have been a bit more goose sauce poured over the rice. * Roast Goose & Crispy Pork Rice – The roast goose was again very good, with crispy skin, though the sauce portion still felt slightly too light. The crispy pork was nicely crunchy without being overly salty or dry, and the mustard served on the side paired surprisingly well with it. (My wife did feel it was slightly salty, though.) Overall, it’s a great spot for a simple and satisfying meal, especially since it stays open late and is very convenient for a quick dinner after a long day.

Tai Hing absolutely smacked. I haven't even tried their BBQ yet, but the breakfast alone already hit the spot. The eggs, cooked perfectly jammy- chicken and pork steaks seasoned to perfection, and oh boy make sure you add the chili sauce to your noodles. It's such a gamechanger. When it comes to eating in Hong Kong, you can pretty much take service entirely out of the equation unless you're dining somewhere real fancy. That being said, Tai Hing had good service. The red bean ice with cream (not ice cream) had really fresh and sweet red beans. Lastly, for the price? $42hkd which is roughly $7cad you're getting a full breakfast. It's a little smaller than Vancouver portions, but hey if you're not full just order another- it won't break the bank. Overall, 5/5 stars. No complaints!

A Hong kong roasted pork with rice restaurant. They also sell roasted duck , boiled chicken , and some of the basic breakfast menu. Drinking water is free. Food taste good. Service is good. Many tables inside. Waiting time for food is more than 10 minutes.

The food has remained consistent through the years and it hasn’t disappointed. The roast goose was delicious! The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy and flavourful without all the nasty layer of fat where other places served. The char siew is sweet and aromatic whereas the roast pork had a crispy crackling on top. One tip I have is to order the roast pork belly (烧腩肉)as it is a much better cut than other parts of the pig. The stir fried vegetables were crunchy and tasty, much to everyone’s delight. The lotus root was fresh and crunchy too. The noodles were interesting as it was semi translucent. Of course, their signature yuan yang remained consistent and it’s usually served in a cup placed in a larger bowl filled with ice to keep it chilled but not dilute the beverage. Splendid idea.
